Conley is a chemistry problem and we should trade him

CP's such a great pick and roll player and has such a high basketball IQ that I don't really see any reason why he wouldn't be a fit in Quins system.

The he won’t fit is kinda silly... he’s played a ton of offball last few years and is great... he ****ing invented lob city... we don’t think he can hit the lob pass to Rudy.

Defensively he can guard up a couple positions... like how PJ Tucker and his *** double teamed Rudy last night and was effective even though he’s giving up 7 inches.

We would be giving OKC financial flexibility to go along with their young assets and pics to be a force for years to come. I'd like the idea more if OKC wasn't in the west. A big price to pay for CP3 who may or may not be the difference.

OKC is not afraid to make the big move for the long term... if they get a “get out of jail free” card on CP they’d do it. They are one knee injury away from riding that out for the next few years. They already got picks for dumping Westbrook... I don’t think they’d require more. They will still be competitive this year and have enough cushion to make the playoffs.

I think NY would do the Conley deal... they aren’t going to use their space this summer.

what does that matter? They already have the picks and young guys... can get a little better but their timeline is 3-4 years from now. Our timeline is the next 3-4 years. Maximize our window now... there are always other teams building regardless of what we do.

I watched Conley last night and he played turrible, almost as bad as Gobert who stuffed himself on the rim and backboard not once but twice, and not quite as bad as Bogey who actually forgot how to dribble (Snyder had to yank him - before he let him back in in clutch time to hit some bombs that didn't matter). Conley is still thinking too much. That was apparent to me in a recent Kristen Kenney interview in which he was addressing his slow start and how he was going to fix it (WHY????) Turned on the Jets last night on one play and it's apparent he's the fastest player on our team. Hit an impossible twisting layup in traffic, made me think wow, how good can this guy be. But still, I believe that generally speaking, he makes everybody better. And if somebody doesn't show up, please don't blame it on Conley cause he's got his own demons to deal with.

Relieving OKC from Paul's 3rd year would be a big boost in what they are building. They have assets that could be a problem for us for a decade or more. We don't have the same long term assets. Helping them to be more financially flexible could haunt us for many many seasons. Our payoff would be CP3 for a couple of good years, if he wanted to be here in the first place.

They might find another team willing to help... those picks assets might no plan out... I'm old enough to remember when people thought Minnesota would be the next big thing. We may be re-tooling when they hit their window. DM is very young and Rudy is in his prime... the rest of our core group is pretty old... In 4 years are Bojan, Ingles, Conley nba starters for a contender?

You have to make moves with your short and long term in mind, but too much can happen to think about blocking others.

People cried when we helped GS get Iggy... if we didn't do it someone would have... and they would have benefited not us.

The best options are:

1- If you can get a CP3 trade done without any draft assets and maybe pick up a couple rotation players I'd do it. Makes us a real contender if healthy.
2- Ride it out with Conley... when his outside shot comes around he will be much more valuable than Mudiay ever was. See what's out there this summer and roll it forward if there is nothing. I don't think we are a true contender, but understand why we'd do it.

The other options of trade him for awful parts, bench him for Mudiay (really?), cut him... are just dumb.

If even Andy is willing to talk about a possible Conley trade on Twitter you know this **** needs some serious attention.

I'm probably in the minority here but I don't think CP3 resolves the issue. Do we have CP3 come off the bench? Are we going to put CP3 in the starting lineup and have many of the same issues we have with Conley? Everyone can use the same arguments they did when we were acquiring Conley that they can with CP3, but I personally don't see how it resolves anything. I think I'd try to get Kevin Love over CP3 and I don't even want Kevin Love that bad.

Conley has played the Jazz out of any trade leverage. Love's contract is brutal for us. The best options are for Conley to play himself out of this, or play Mudiay in front of him.

OK we $hit the bed last night but is it really panic and do stupid stuff time? The guys aren't robots so maybe let's give them a little slack.

CP can guard bigger guys so both guys are small but its very different. CP has played at a high level in four different place with four different types of teams... his game is more malleable.

I think CP just a much better player... only question is durability. You absolutely start him. He played with and made another ball dominant wing great with Harden... he ran lob city and was great with Capela. If teams deny the roll and hug the shooters he will murder the mid range... literally like the best in the league.

CP is a savant and the Point God... Mike was a borderline all star... its a massive difference.

This conversation about replacing Conley has been going on a lot longer than last night (in general, not meaning any specific thread). Where have you been?

Yeah I know he's not everyone's fav right now but there was plenty of blame to go around for our fine showing and Conley stunk I get that. But how about coach? At some point last night he needed to make some adjustments and didn't. Or how about letting Morgan, Tucker, NWG, Oni, JWF and Brantley get some serious burn? The result couldn't have been worse than an L.

To add on... last year was the year CP supposedly fell off... his stats are close or better than Mike's stats last year... in what was one of the best seasons of his career. One played on a playoff team the other on a lotto team.

CP is just a much better player... his contract is the only thing that is worse.
