Jazz throttle the Spurs at their place game thread

I havent seen these fouls. Gobert has brought the ball down low giving Patty Mills easy steals. I haven’t seen any egregious errors when Mitchell has driven inside.
Well then I guess you weren't looking.

But it really doesn't matter. The Jazz have now played two poor games in a row. Here's hoping they can figure out how to beat an undermanned team by tomorrow.

Because Ja is the real deal. Jaren Jackson is healthy (missed like 30 games last season) and has improved a lot. Dillon Brooks is also amazing this season (didn't play last year). So, Memphis has a much better, healthier and deeper team this year. So you are incorrect in saying is the same roster.
Memphis is on pace for about 10+ wins. That's impressive. You'd think losing your borderline All star point guard for a rookie wouldn't be the case. I love Ja he's a pimp.

I think Royce is just a tad overrated on defense. I get that he constantly has to guard the other teams best perimeter player but he frequently gets cooked by the guy he's guarding, just like with Derozen tonight. I still think he's a very good player but I'm not sure he's this lockdown defender he's made out to be.

Against Houston Eric Gordon took 20 more free throws than his season average. Houston took 25 more free throws than Utah IN Utah despite the Jazz being the more aggressive team in the paint. We out shoot them by 5%, have almost double the assists, same amount of turnovers, etc.....I call obvious BS and say we're getting screwed.

Against the Spurs we get out shot by 12%, we take 16 more free throws than them on their floor, they have a clear edge in assists and turnovers. I say we were just unlucky.

SURE.

I'm really hoping that Conley getting back to starting has the same impact for him as it had for Joe. Something has got to change for him to be a positive force for the team.

Hope the front office is at least considering a move in the week prior to the deadline. I seriously doubt they're considering anything with Conley (though I'd like some options there and wish they were - seriously CP3 is still a stud), but I at least hope they're looking at the bench big spot. Davis is in the doghouse and playing poorly this season and Niang/Bradley aren't enough. Morgan/Brantley obviously aren't getting off the bench this season.

Bruh then you ain’t watching... Rudy Gay has his whole arm draped over DMs body/shoulder... he brings his arm up to shoot and it removes said arm in the process and they call a foul on DM... those types of calls are huge swings... should be two free throws instead it’s a turnover... the JC baseline drive offensive foul was garbage... can’t take a charge running along side a guy like that and there was very little contact... those are almost always called fouls on the defender... there was three in a short time that helped neuter us... we also had some errors for sure... they also made 400 contested mid range shots...

I think one of the big takeaways is that people have figured out we can’t take advantage on 5 out scenarios... TB has to punish them for going small and he didn’t... can’t have him out there if he can’t get to the offensive glass on 5 out lineups.

Joe Ingles is better at generating assists in Quin's system than Conley is. That much is pretty clear.

I'd consider Royce a good but not great defender. His defensive rating is 107. Far from the elite guys.

Coming from someones who's actually reffed a high school game I can tell you a missed call can dramatically change a game. If you really wanted to control a game you could call twice as many fouls on a team you want to win. It's actually an art form for some refs. The 4th foul on Gobert was a prime example.

The Spurs shot 56.1% from the field. And they really needed every bit of that 56.1% to win.

It's really tough for teams to beat the Jazz right now. It takes a really poor three point shooting night from the Jazz or a scorching shooting night from the opponent. Sometimes both.

Guys... I think it’s time to call a spade a spade... he’s not a borderline all star... he’s not even playing like a good starter level pg... I think he racked up some big stats on a ****** team where he had the ball a lot and had no pressure to win... he can still help us but we got bamboozled.

It is impressive indeed. They are fun to watch. I was just pointing out that this year's roster is way better. Conley played with scrubs. Jackson is great. They are getting great contributions from Clarke, Dillon Brooks and others. Even "Handpad" Allen has been ok.

Ja is on another planet. You lose Conley but you add a generational player and a healthier/deeper/better roster, it probably means more wins.
