2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

Ain’t scurrrddd. It’s pretty gimmicky. Give Quin some time to plan. Tucker is cute as a backup 5... full time I think they get in trouble... no rim protection on the drives... we missed a lot of threes. RoCo is not a reliable shooter imo... he’s also hurt a lot. I think they may regret this deal.
You don't beat small lineups with 3 point shooting. In fact we shot well from 3 when we played them. We lost because we were neither big enough nor quick enough. We are stuck in a limbo and couldn't create matchup problem to punish them for playing small. So when Hou plays small against us, it works to their advantage because it neutralizes Rudy and allows them to exploit our perimeter defense which has been horrendous.

Let inefficient Westbrook and RoCo chuck to their hearts content. I ain't scared of that at all.
That's fair, I'm still traumatized by the last game I guess. Over a seven game series we should be able to figure it out.

Ummmmm we shot 28% from three... WTF you talking about we shot well.

Having time to game plan will help. That **** won’t fly in the playoffs. Rudy was open a lot and we missed him. They wanna switch and DM will wear Tucker out. It’s something that works well but has some flaws we will expose.

That's fair too. I think we're all a little traumatized by the losses to the Rockets over the last few seasons. I have faith though. We have a better team than them. And Quin comes up with great gameplans in the playoffs. People clowned him for his Harden defense last year but for the most part it worked. We just couldn't score.

CP3 and Capela were probably the two biggest reasons Houston was able to knock us out of the playoffs the past two years. CP3's ability to hit midrange shots at a high clip was a nuisance to our defensive scheme. And Capela's activity and ability to finish above the rim when Rudy had to help off was problematic too.

Now they are both gone.

Lol. Looked at the wrong stats. My bad

When you play a depleted team, it totally changes the dynamics. It allows you to surprise some teams. Run with those as your standard lineup and it takes that strength away. Like, we would have likely approached the game mentally a lot different had Harden and Capela played. See the depleted Clippers game a few years ago. If that was their every day lineup, we beat them.

I think this gets exposed. The fact that 6’5” PJ Tucker will be their center will be laughable. What we need to do is just make sure we don’t approach these as gimmes, but also not approach them like this team lives in our head. I’m more worried about the latter.

But the Rockets have Chandler. Curious if he gets any burn, or if they end up snagging Bogut or Noah.

We got threes and had Austin Rivers and others on Rudy down low and our guys didn’t throw him the ball... it was stupid... we also threw Bradley out there which was nonsense. I trust Quin is smarter than that come playoff time.

This is a bit of a Hail Mary for Houston... no more bullets in the chamber.

I wouldn't be surprised if Houston acquired a Center before the deadline. Talk the last few days is that they were looking for a wing and a big. Whoever they get will be a downgrade from Capela tho.

With Capela going to Atlanta - does that mean Alex Len is available?

He's a 7'1 decent rebounder/shot blocker who hits 36% from 3 last season. He's 26 years old, and his salary is a match for Ed Davis. The Jazz would have to at least throw in a 2nd round pick.

Fantasy Bball projects Len as the 35th best center in the NBA the rest of the season, one notch behind Aron Baynes. As far as backup 5/4's go - you could do a lot worse.

I've got to admit that 5 out lineup Houston's going to use now scares the **** out of me. I would not want to face them n the playoffs.

So Westbrook/Harden/Gordon/Roco/Tucker.... maybe Westbrook will be their leading rebounder. They've basically upgraded Daniel House to Covington, which is a moderate improvement. But they have no bigs.

I think Denver is lining up a Jrue holiday trade... going to bed... but that wouldn’t make me happy.

I could see a GRIII deal for a 2RP happening near the deadline if nothing bigger happens first. GSW looking to shed a bit of salary.

They beat our *** using no bigs
