I don't think Bernie Sanders can carry a general election. He still comes off as an angry and stubborn socialist. He appeals to a segment of Democrats, but most independents and Republicans won't go near him.

If Bernie's the nominee, he won't get 200 electoral votes.

Not really, no. Not if your solution is to open the borders, tax people to give illegal immigrants free healthcare and nationalize the energy sector to recreate Gazprom in the U.S. He's completely out of left field.

I’d rather have our tax money spent in social issues that benefit the people rather than foreign affairs that we shouldn’t we involved with. Doesn’t mean that I agree with everything he’s proposing, but for that reason only he would be a tremendous upgrade. Not to mention the upgrade in image, decorum and manners.

If Bernie was the nominee a large number of never Trumpers would hold their nose and vote for Trump. Trump would love to run against Bernie. He is super vulnerable on his socialist policies. Even if Bernie isn't the nominee, the longer he's in the race pulling the party to the left, the better it is for Trump.

But that's the issue. The Democrats are already split between the moderates and the 'progressives.' Neither side looks to be in a hurry to compromise.

I'm guessing that at this point the DNC would be happy to run a Bloomberg/Klobuchar ticket. Biden and Warren have both fizzled. I just have a hard time seeing where Bloomberg shoulders his way in. He's been running off in his own lane, ignoring the entire primary process. And if Bloomberg does sneak in to grab the nomination, I don't really see most Bernie bros mobilizing to support him.
