Coronavirus

Hmmm... now there is speculation that the virus did not come from animals but from a virology lab in Wuhan?

There's a theory that the virus was a bio-weapon experiment that got out. Strangely, the virus seems to be genetically targeted towards Chinese and Asians more broadly. Coincidentally, it was then released in China right before the Chinese New Year migrations. Combine that with the the virus' long incubation period without the host showing symptoms, its ability to survive for nearly 10 days on its own in cold temperatures, its ability to penetrate non-industrial-grade face masks, and its spread vector of 3+, and you've got nearly a perfect storm for this virus to wreak havoc in China. There also appears to be an insertion into the virus strain that resembles HIV, which is unlikely to be naturally occurring.

I want to thank you and Scat for making clear how unreliable a news site Zero Hedge is.

The claim originates from a team of scientists at the South China University of Technology. The publication Zero Hedge simply makes a reference to their study. You know this, of course, since you actually read the article...

The possible origins of 2019-nCoV coronavirus

The 2019-nCoV has caused an epidemic of 28,060 laboratory-confirmed infections in human including 564 deaths in China by February 6, 2020. Two descriptions of the virus published on Nature this week indicated that the genome sequences from patients were almost identical to the Bat CoV ZC45 coronavirus. It was critical to study where the pathogen came from and how it passed onto human. An article published on The Lancet reported that 27 of 41 infected patients were found to have contact with the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan. We noted two laboratories conducting research on bat coronavirus in Wuhan, one of which was only 280 meters from the seafood market. We briefly examined the histories of the laboratories and proposed that the coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory. Our proposal provided an alternative origin of the coronavirus in addition to natural recombination and intermediate host.

In summary, somebody was entangled with the evolution of 2019-nCoV coronavirus. In addition to origins of natural recombination and intermediate host, the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan.

The contagious without showing symptoms has been shown to be incorrect as far as I have read. I could certainly be wrong, but I think that report has been disproven.

The scientific study I linked to was just released this week, and it isn't the same as what your fringe site RespectfulInsolence posited two weeks ago.

You mean, the one claiming that it was bats in the laboratory at Wuhan, and waste products from the laboratory, instead of bats in the wild?

China built a hospital in 10 days, there is footage of the place leaking water everywhere falling apart into pieces.

According to Francis Boyle, professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law, who drafted the U.S. domestic implementing legislation for the Biological Weapons Convention, known as the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, the Corona Virus is the product of biological warfare, the lab where it was produced being near the seafood market that allegedly was the source of the virus. I entered this thread without any high expectations. Maybe hoping to read some updates from people who have lived in China or how might personally know people connected to this virus.

And instead

See the same misinformed people who spread nonsense about Hillary Clinton’s pizzeria, denied Russia’s intervention in the 2016 election, spew conspiracies about the “deep state”, deny climate change, and claim The Bidens did something nefarious in Ukraine, are now the same people claiming that this is some sort of lab manufactured super virus.

My goodness. Whatever crappy website you’re reading, just stop. Zerointelligence.com or whatever you’re using isn’t reliable information. Alex Jones or Drudge aren’t honest. If your website is filled with conspiracies, Trump pics, Bald Eagle memes, it’s probably not reliable.

Some of you are in need of some serious self-reflection. The more lame conspiracies you post doesn’t mean you'll be more credible.

Today’s conspiracies about this virus bring to mind the conspiracies that were spewed by The USSR that AIDS was really created by the CIA. Just stop.

who is not in China, has conducted no testing, and thus is almost completely ignorant about the real situation, there is some brain-dead conspiracy we need to believe.
One Brow,

I am not a tin-foil-hat person, but why do you seem to be 100% sure, that it is not a biolab mishap?
Based on my experience, you should never trust the information that is given by Russia or China. For comparison, during the Chernobyl disaster, the Soviet leaders also said that there is nothing to worry about - however, the Finnish TV immediately reported, that it was a serious incident. The history of Soviet Union has plenty of covered up disasters where information went to public when the glasnost started. Of course, those who doubted about those - labeling those doubters with conspiracy-nut label was the less painful solution - hard core doubter were fired or put in prison.

Yeah, you’re not a tinfoil hat person at all.
Again, were those also tin-foil hat guys and conspiracy nuts who did not believe Soviet propaganda?

Well, i just hope that maybe a combination of Soviet Union experience, garlic, ginger, honey and fresh fruits will keep the virus away :).

I didn't think he was saying it couldn't be a biolab mishap I think he was just saying THAT PARTICULAR SOURCE was not a good one.

It was a comment more on the source than the content of the source.

At least that's how I read it
