2020 Presidential election

He'll beat anyone in the current field of Democrats. I think the Dems' best play would be to run a moderate like Klobuchar and try to convince women that they shouldn't lose to a chauvinist two times in a row. I'm not sure it would work, but it would give women, who comprise the majority of voters, a rallying point. The issue is that Trump is no longer just a chauvinist anymore. He's been a fairly successful conservative president.

Exactly.
That's why I found it funny that you said said he would beat Bloomberg or Bernie. Your love of trump means that you think he is unbeatable.

If klobuchar was a Democratic frontrunner then your post would have said that she has no chance against Trump.

You have to follow your party no matter what. Whatever Democrat is a frontrunner for the nomination you will say has no chance. It's what your party wants you to say and how they want you to think and so you fall in line.

All Trump and the Republicans have to say is, "He's a socialist." That's it. It's over. Trump will call him a "crazy socialist," but it's the same thing. It's not as bad as Reagan vs. Fritz Mondale, but there are a few similarities.
What if Bernie calls trump a socialist though? Would it be over for Trump too?

**** you!

You are going to help get the U.S. 4 more years of trump because it's all or nothing for Sanders for you.

Stay out of our ****. We want something better than Trump. That's all. Just something better than Trump.

The perfect is the enemy of the good. Anyone familiar with that statement? Well that's what's happening here. In our quest for perfect we are going to sacrifice the good and we'll end up with Trump, a ****ing dumpster fire.
I would be very happy with Bernie as my president.

but is he electable? That’s the issue. I agree with Bernie a hell of a lot more than trump. But I think Trump’s path to victory is far easier than Bernie’s. Which is pretty disturbing as Trump’s approval rating is atrocious. That’s how unelectable Bernie is IMO.

I'm not a Republican, and I'm not following a party. I'm looking at the actual support Trump has, not just what angry Democrats and liberal media say, and making an honest prediction. Trump would also probably be favored over Klobuchar, but it would be a more serious threat to Trump than Bernie, Biden or Buttigieg. Bloomberg probably has a better shot at challenging Trump than Bernie does, though if Bloomberg gets the nomination it will fracture the party.

I haven't voted in a general election since 2008, but have followed politics as a human rights lobbyist and freelance writer.

Could you consciously vote for someone just like Trump but let’s say he/she has one less flaw than Trump? I don’t think anyone expects perfection.

Yes Trump is eons worse than any other candidate but you couldn’t possibly get me and I believe many others to get behind someone like Biden or Bloomberg for instance.

Oh so like say the same **** they've been saying for the last X amount of years and he still ranks as the most popular senator and continues to rise in popularity? It's crazy how dumb y'all are when there is basic info out there.

Bernie is Teflon to criticism because his message is consistent. The big thing now is people crying about being bullied by Bernie supporters online. It's the only **** they have and it's not even real ****.

It's conceivable that Bernie could win in Nevada. It's been a blue state for a while. Bernie also has an army on the ground there for the primary. You're still not going to get Republicans or conservative-leaning Independents to participate in pre-Democratic primary polls.
You don't have to get Republicans lmao. All you have to get is the people who usually don't vote, which is who Bernie gets.

Bernie has about 25% - 35% support among the likely Democratic primary voters right now, depending on the state. The moderate candidates--Biden, Buttigieg and Klobuchar--are splitting the more moderate vote, which totals at least 45% - 55% between them. (It's hard to say how people perceive Warren at this point.) If the excess moderate candidates drop out and their support consolidates behind one candidate instead of 3 or 4, Bernie won't be the frontrunner anymore. The DNC knows this and it's quite possible that the DNC will give the nomination to someone other than Bernie.

There's a perception that Bernie has a ceiling, which is about 35% or possibly 40% support among Dems, nevermind what a general election would look like.

So what are you basing your honest prediction off? We know it's not off polls. Is it from Facebook posts of your friends or something? It's certainly not from looking at jazzfanz posters. Is it based off fox news programs? Trump rallys? Just a gut feeling?

No, because no one would believe that's true. Bernie is a self-professed socialist, his proposals affirm that, and Trump is a conservative.
But I see Trump giving handouts to farmers and rich people and the coal industry. Why doesn't he just stand back and let capitalism take care of itself? Seems kinda socializy. I see him running up the debt too. Not very conservative.

Sanders is the second choice of more Biden supporters than Buttigieg, Klobuchar, or Bloomberg. For many Democrats this election is more about electability than ideology. If Biden’s campaign collapses in next few weeks, Sanders, as the frontrunner, will benefit most.
