What's new

2020 Presidential election

To everyone...

Is marijuana a drug?

Yes or no

Yes, and while I'm grateful that my state allows medicinal marijuana, I am so looking forward to seeing my state legalize recreational pot, as is the case in three of the 6 state New England region. I should live long enough to see that happen, maybe by next year. Would love to live long enough to see the federal government legalize recreational pot....

I remember how cool it was to walk into a dispensary and purchase legally for the first time in 50+ years....

Oh so we're just going to completely change the term to fit your agenda. A person dealing a drug is not a drug dealer now. Wow... This is by far the biggest stretch any of you have come up with.

I purchase at a legal marijuana dispensary. I don't consider the owner, or the employees, as "drug dealers". It's a legal medical marijuana dispensary. Alchohol is obviously a drug as well, but I don't think of a liquor store owner as a drug dealer. Our convenience stores sell tobacco, another drug. Yet, I don't view owners of convenience stores, or the clerk behind the counter, as a drug dealer. I usually reserve that term to illegal sales of drugs like pot.

For me, the term "drug dealer" is something I've always associated with the sale of illegal drugs, like pot, cocaine, meth, etc. It refers to the sale of drugs in an illegal setting. You may feel that the term should apply to the employees of a legal medicinal dispensary, or a clerk selling a pack of cigarettes, but for most of us, the term is associated, not with storefronts, but illegal street sales of illegal substances.

So, if you're fighting to have a liquor store owner labeled a drug dealer, well, I think that's just you enjoying the act of arguing.

You guys have turned this into a absolutely stupid conversation. The word drug dealer is absolutely pointless here. I buy weed from my drug dealer and they are white as ghost and good people. There is no color in drug dealers as all races are drug dealers. This idea that calling a person that deals drugs a drug dealer is not racist and this entire conversation is idiotic. I mean it's borderline racist that you guy think only minorities are drug dealers to me. Like whites are too awesomely good to sell and do drugs. Lol it's asinine.

My point is the absolute stereotypical connotation that only blacks and minorities sell weed. That propping up the sell of weed to blacks is some high class, high wage, opportunity. It's nothing more than an extremely white privileged guy promising the bottom of the totem pole because that's all minorities do is sell pot. That's all they're capable of.

I mean it's you guys that keep bringing up cigarette shops or alcohol stores. Yeah weed isn't the worst drug but just like alcohol and cigarettes it would be absolutely stereotypical of my to say "you blacks have no future so I'm going to help you open up a liquor store". That's exactly what Bernie is doing. Exactly... Again I like to smoke a bowl myself but selling weed, beer, or cigarettes isn't an overly optimistic approach to make something out of one's self. That doesn't mean it's a terrible job or decision I just disagree with the stereotypical racism that it's only blacks and minorities who do such things.

I agree with you here even though I'm not entirely sure how massive dispensaries really help and bring money into black and minority communities. I understand the legal ramifications of making pot legal but it's just crazy that not one of you say a word when Trump has historically high minority unemployment rates and has signed prison reform bills.

In the end getting jobs and money flowing into communities is Bernie's end game but the fact of the matter is Trump has done some of this and never gets an ounce of credit. It's almost like some of you only care when it fits your agenda.

That connotation by Tucker Carlson being part of what I objected to.

Would it make a difference to you if it were a hair salon or a restaurant? People with liquor stores usually have pretty good futures.

The reason there are so many bars is that selling alcohol is incredibly profitable. The reason so many places sell tobacco, including a few specialty shops, is they make a lot of money doing so. I see no reason weed shops would be different.

Little minority person- "ma when I grow up I want to be a doctor or astronaut!"

Ma-"son Bernie didn't spend his entire live in politics sacrificing himself for you do be a measly astronaut! He has opened the doors for us to sell weed! That is our calling for being black."

What brings money into black communities is black entrepreneurship and wealth. One of the reason black college graduates don't see the wealth increase of white college graduates is that they put more of their earnings back into the community. More black business owners will mean more money in the black neighborhoods.

I don't see why Trump should get credit for riding the wave of Obama's economy, and I have spoken out in favor of his signing of criminal justice reform.
