RIFT IN JAZZ LOCKER ROOM

I cannot believe some of you are going at Donovan over this. Have you heard the guy speak? Of course he wrote the Instagram post. That's who he is and who he has always represented himself to be. He is the class act youngster of the NBA.

Some of you idiots are gonna hide behind your biased love for Gobert and maybe irritate Donovan to a point where he might want out. I like Rudy, but our future is Donovan. When times get tough against good teams and especially in the playoffs, we can't rely on Gobert. Recently, Rudy is throwing temper tantrums all over the court and it's Donovan there trying to calm him down.

Get the story straight. Donovan has a right to be irritated if his teammate gave him a pandemic illness. Anybody would have that right. Regardless, Donovan didn't come out and bash Rudy over this. You are all reading between the lines.

Let me start off by saying I have no dog in this fight. I’m neither a huge Gobert fan nor some rabid Mitchell fan as I find each of them fatally flawed on the court. Regarding what’s recently transpired and the post to which I’m responding, yes, Mitchell has a right to be irritated. But one shouldn’t react on emotions, especially as one in the public eye, and if Mitchell has an ounce of a ****ing brain in his head, it takes all of two seconds to realize he has absolutely zero clue as to how he contracted Covid-19. It could’ve been through another player in the league, a fan, some random *** person on the streets, any ****ing one. So to post on IG what he did, whether he constructed the post or not, is ****ing weak sauce. Completely and utterly ****ing weak. It’s not surprising imo. Donovan has always been concerned about Donovan. I’ll go a little full on @oneye here but his constant smiling through his teeth, and “good guy” posts online have always felt completely transparent to me. I’ve always found him to be a bit of a phony quite frankly. And I think if there’s any true substance or character in who he is as a person, it really needs to reveal itself publicly in the coming days or weeks. Rudy deserves that, whether he was careless or not. Because again, Donnie hasn’t a ****ing clue as to how he contracted it. And like others have said, he very well may have gotten it first and given it to Gobert.

Well said!

To add a point, Rudy has gotten his "bad look" out of the way and is dealing with the repercussions. Donovan is still working on his bad look and has so far not shown any sign of thinking it's done yet.

agreed. Not mentioning support for Rudy’s well being is a dog act. Souring on him quickly

I’m gonna add a point too. If Mitchell does come out with a retraction of sorts BUT doesn’t do one privately with Rudy or in front of the team first, and he has sort of shunned Rudy to this point, that public apology could look VERY bad to Rudy and every teammate and be recognized as a PR move and as very insincere to those on the team. It’s important he goes to Rudy first before any social media ********.

Rudy didn't apologize to Donovan directly/publicly so why must Donovan directly/publicly apologize to Rudy? What a double standard some of you are setting.

We don't know what happened in the lockerroom. The fact that Royce last night said people must defer to Donovan when asked about what Rudy did tells me Rudy did something quite egregious directly to Donovan. He has a right to his feelings regardless of what fans think is appropriate lockerroom code.

This whole topic needs to go away. All we are doing is pitting Rudy vs Donovan. Next thing we know, half this forum will go full on Exum/CJ Miles on the guy they like least.

Amen. Now idk if guys on the team have been asked not to comment on this stuff right now, but we will find out who Donovan actually is when things aren’t so bubbly.

Rudy has apologized publicly. They had a plane ride together from OKC to SLC, so they’ve seen each other and I’d be surprised if Rudy didn’t apologize to his face. Rudy’s liking DMs stuff on social media. Donovan? Nope. Donovan doesn’t have to say what Rudy did was okay or that he wasn’t upset about something. Dragging your teammate on social media and with the media however is just trash.

Good Lord you are the biggest Rudy homer.

Donovan did not mention Rudy in his IG post or social media. He told Woj that teammates weren't very happy with Rudy's actions in the lockerroom. Big deal. He didn't lash out. Didn't take shots. He pointed out the obvious.

Let it go dude. There is nothing to see here. Quit manipulating hate for Donovan.
