So there's no dining-in at the moment so the options are limited to take out or drive through.

I highly encourage all of you to make an effort, if you're going to pick up food, to order from a local establishment that offers curbside pick-up vs McDonalds, Carl's Jr, etc. Those places are going to be fine. The small locally run places might not be fine, their employees might not be fine.

If you are venturing out to get food to bring home at least consider getting it from a local place that you enjoy to help make sure it's still there when all this is over.

For instance I made this Korean BBQ country style pork ribs the other day.

The Indian place I get food from a lot is in an old Hogi Yogi with a drive up that had never been used, until they opened it back up last night. The Hogi Yogi menu sign was still there, too. They had been using it as employee parking.

I actually really want to do this but I don’t know. I’m not taking any chances with this. Complete quarantine. And I’m afraid **** could get on the boxes to the Chinese food and what not.

Is that the one on like 13th east? I used to go to that Hogi Yogi when I was a kid (well, 16-17yo). We lived on Creek Rd.

Yeah, fair enough. I'm saying if you're going to go out to get food, don't go to McDonalds, get takeout from a local joint. They are getting hurt by this 1000% more than national fast food chains.

I plan on stocking up on my two years’ supply of sandwiches from The Philadelphian tomorrow.

Yeah, I figure we're all in on this quarantine ****. Not going to half *** it going out to eat.

Keep in mind than many Mickie D's are franchises that someone personally has invested their money. Most likely someone in the community. You are not withholding money from some anonymous entity. Even if the franchisee survives you are hurting the employees that work there. Yes, McDonald's corporate will likely survive and possibly the franchisee but there are a lot of downstream people that will not.

My wife is picking something up tonight... I’ve gone hardcore quarantine and tried to fight it but we needs tacos I guess. Newsome says over half of CA gonna get this in the next 8 weeks... seems aggressive.

No doubt.

But Gameface is right too. So many businesses could go under. Those businesses destroyed. The lives of the owner and employees destroyed. And my wife and I love our town. We can’t imagine ever leaving. Absolutely everything about it is us and I’d hate for certain favorite places to fold. The bagel place we frequent. The Italian restaurant in the same complex that is a top five restaurant in the county. Absolutely amazing food. They do that **** right. Bring out an Amuse-bouche and all. So good. A husband and wife own it and work it, him in the kitchen, her at the front of the house...my dry cleaner, a pizza place or two. Some other **** I’m sure I’m forgetting. Not to mention some of the other best restaurants in the county about 15-20 minutes away. Those towns have great vibes and great food. And I’d hate to see that crushed.

If we get money from the government, I legit might just give cash to these places. Maybe not the dry cleaners because it’s own family that work there and they have to make a killing. But the bagel place and Italian joint maybe. We won’t need the money that badly.

Like don’t even give me food, here’s $500 each. Do the right thing and lay your employees. I might even post that **** on a town message board. “If you haven’t been laid off, consider donating money you’ve received to a local business or charity.”

If I just hand cash over in a taped envelope I won’t have to worry about contracting something. Plus once this recovers they may treat me like a King.
