RIFT IN JAZZ LOCKER ROOM

I'm a huge Donovan fan with him as a player, but he seems very shallow, superficial and fake as a person. I just don't buy his character as being genuine.

You morons don't know what happened in the lockerroom. Until you do know, you cannot judge Donovan Mitchell. We don't know how significant or insignificant Rudy's actions and words were.

A couple things to add:

- has Rudy publicly apologized straight to Donovan and his teammates or has he just apologized for being careless with the media room incident?

- if not, maybe Rudy still hasn't privately apologized to Donovan either

- if Rudy hasn't, would you blame Donovan for holding out good feelings until you get that apology?

- has any Jazz player come out and completely cleared Rudy of wrongdoing? Has anybody forgiven him for his actions or has it just been like Joe saying everything will be okay when they get back?

- if no teammate has come to Rudy's defense, why are you children taking shots at Donovan? Y'all side with Rudy over the whole team?

My guess - Rudy did something terribly gross in the lockerroom especially towards Donovan, didn't apologize and probably called Donovan a vagina or something for getting upset. Without an apology, I probably wouldn't let it go that easily either. Regardless, we don't know so stop hating on anybody.

Mudiay,Joe,and Georges have all publicly interacted with Rudy. Royce and others have all at least been fine liking his pictures and stuff. Donovan is supposed to be the face of the franchise and this humble great leader. That goes for good times but more importantly bad.

my view on Donovan's character was based even before this incident, the dude seems shallow and not genuine...

Idk. You see this and you see the video above like he has a gun to his head to read that script. He’s either changed or just never was the guy he puts on all the time. By comparison here’s Rudy’s and Kalanis sharing the same message. Donovan is mad over getting the virus but acts like a kid being forced to read something in detention when he has to share a message with the community he “loves so much”.

Rudy

Kalani

Donovan

One of them seems really sarcastic and irritated they’re doing it. Can you spot which one? Also Kalanis is great lol.

Donovan is fake bro

IDK, I find it hard to pass judgement on a 23 year old who's been handed the world and has the everyone telling him he's god's gift to Utah and the NBA. I'd like to believe I'd still be the cool af guy I am now but who knows. Him being such a bitch baby about getting this has soured me on him considerably though. Especially if he's been asymptomatic the entire time. What is he boobing about?

Also Rudy has had his fair share of temper tantrums this year too. Both have gotten big heads.

Donovan knows the game. He knows what it's like to be a pro athlete and celebrity. He learned this growing up around the Mets. He knows the image he wants to project. But that said, I think he's genuine. He has genuine enthusiasm, he's good natured, and people gravitate towards him. I don't think he's fake.

I agree with this. I’m not necessarily saying this moment defines him but we’re like 3 weeks beyond the incident here. If he is who he says he is, or this great leader of the franchise with a deep commitment level this isn’t how you do that. Yes I go back to Dame a lot but you would never see him do this. You just wouldn’t. It’s bad for the team, bad for the franchise, and bad for the fanbase. Also I agree, Rudy has become quite a baby with a big head himself.

You’re right he does know how to project the image he wants. Which makes the way he’s acting now even more troubling. I don’t care if things are actually smoothed over. I don’t care if you need to work through things or even if things don’t end up working out. If you’re this great leader and the face of the franchise you claim it’s time to say something.

He's a top 15 player in the league. Has been for about 3 years now. His leash ought to be a bit longer.

I just hope we don't **** this up, like the time we had to choose between AK and Williams and we chose Williams.

He’s a spoiled rich kid who tries to fit in and seem like everyone else to be liked.

I simply can't believe you people are being like this to Donovan. He had been in Salt Lake for 5 minutes and he was already doing more in the community than almost everybody on the team. They named a bridge after him because he's fake? Because he didn't kiss Rudy's *** after Rudy acted like an idiot?

Guys like you are why this fan base is considered so ignorant. Donovan is genuine and charismatic. If anything, Donovan showing emotion over this whole Rudy Covid thing shows MORE transparency and authenticity than just sweeping it under the rug and being cool with it.

Honestly, what does he have to gain in the lockerroom, the community, in his wallet by being upset at Rudy? You guys are so stupid. You don't deserve Donovan.

I'm just saying bro, I'm not perfect but pushing his brand and name that's one thing but he just seems more for himself than for others, like he does things to get recognized and is just wanting to network. just my take

dude I'm from Toronto, and in saying that I've been a jazz fan for over 30 years, Dont be all about the Donovan koolaid, Rudy tho he fd up is a better leader and a franchise guy, Mitch just looks out for himself

He certainly feels like a politician a lot of the time.

try viewing him from a non jazz bias approach. He is lukewarm

I want to like him and I do as a player but when he talks I'm like oh here comes the bs. This is Rudy and Joe's team, Mitchell though he is young has a lot to learn. He should humble himself for real and respect his elders. That's if he is really humble...

I like Donovan. But with the information we have this isn't a great look for a guy who has said he is what he is and the commitment he has is as deep as he says it is. Donovan has literally been treated like a king by the fanbase since he got here, and yeah it's okay to say he didn't handle this great at least with available information.
