Well, while we're waiting...
Today's random *** trivia question:
Who holds the record for the most regular season games played in a single season?
James Worthy
Not sure about that. Team D was weaker then but defense was WAY more physical.Jordan also wouldn’t average 37 a game in today’s era.

Only if fouls get called. Which they were called less than in part to different rules (hand-checking being allowed being an example). And if that strategy wasn’t effective, we wouldn’t have gotten the Pistons as back-to-back champs. Also, where are the scorers that came anywhere close to Jordan in those years?Against certain teams yes. The players were overall worse back then as well. Imagine Craig Ehlo guarding LeBron or Durant.
Physical defense doesn’t equal good defense at all and that just equals more free throws.

That rule change retired Jeff Hornacek. Being able to guard with your hands is a big deal.Nah, the video evidence is out there. Go back and watch full games, not just highlights and the defense is laughable 90% of the time. And the hand checking argument is absurd. Wow, you could touch their hip when they were 20 feet away from the basket, what a game changer.

Thank you. I feel like people romanticize the past. Literally go watch some of Jordan’s highlight videos. Watch his 63 against the Celtics in the playoffs. Absolutely laughable.
Which is an argument no one here has made. The amount of wide wide wide wide WIDE open 15 footers, like no one within 10 feet of guys is ridiculous. Players were not as long, athletic, talented, skilled, strong, smart, and on and on and on back then. It's not even comparable. I do think Jordan would be right up there with Lebron if they came up at the same time. He was that good. But the silly argument Jordan would score 40, 50, 200 in todays game is so stupid.

90’s basketball - all things considered - is the apex of the game. We get to enjoy a more sophisticated product but the artistry and the fire have dwindled immensely.Sure, but it's a very common argument. One thing that I do think was better was the **** talking. Pippen dunking on Ewing then teabagging him, then walking to Spike Lee and **** talking him. That was great back then. The politeness of the modern game is lame.
