2020 Annual All-Time NBA Draft

Lebron had his best season at 24. Giannis just had his best season so far of his career at age 25 and is on his way to his second MVP. I think Lebron is a better shooter and passer back then. But Giannis is the better rebounder, defender, and scorer. But Lebron had a big playoff performance that year. Who knows what will happen with Giannis this year. Last year he dominated for awhile then ran out of steam carrying his team.

Lebron has the championships but thats because he joined a super team to get his.

I think at their peak so far its pretty close but still Lebron. Obviously for their career Lebron is much better but I think Giannis has a chance to catch him. Its too bad he couldnt get to the finals last year and this year is up in the air with his team being the best in the NBA. Giannis has already had the 7th best and 13th best seasons in NBA history using PER.

LeBron does have one championship that doesn't have an asterisk. The year he more or less singlehandedly took out the warriors. Otherwise he has been a coat-tailer. Just like KD.

KD never won a championship, he just got a ring handed to him from the single best team in the modern era. The warriors would have won with or without him. In fact it could be argued that he messed up their chemistry and took them down a half a notch.

The defining factor for giannis will be if he can win a ring. Otherwise he is yet another great performer that couldn't get it done when it counted. That's a pretty big club.

My finished team.

Ben Wallace // Bill Laimbeer
Kevin Garnett // Bobby Jones
Scottie Pippen // Alex English
Ray Allen // Manu Ginobili
Isaiah Thomas // Jrue Holiday

This team is going to be tough as nails. You have some elite defense and ball movement. You did a good job of actually building a team, instead of just getting a lot of talent.

Looking at the final team, would you change the Ben Wallace pick? At the time I was surprised you took Wallace over Dwight, but looking back I think you would have gotten more value moving KG to C and getting one of the PF's that were available (i.e., Griffin, Bosh, Green, or Weber). Green in particular would have fit in really well with your team (defense, ball movement, edge, and energy).

Nah. Wallace is one of the best big man defenders to play the game. And instantly makes the elite defense even better. Those other guys you mentioned are good but not elite. What I did was double down on the elite defense I already had.

I agree that Wallace is a much better option in dealing with power Centers, and he is clearly a better rebounder than Green. I do think Green was an elite defender in his prime, but in more of the KG mold (switchable, disruptive, help defender). I haven't seen all the teams yet, but it is hard to imagine anyone having a better defensive front court. You replace IT with Holiday in the back court and the other team might be better off just taking the 24 second violation!

I personally think LeBron would have two more rings if KD hadn't joined the Warriors.

I think the warriors would have won. But it's possible. I still don't think KD made them that much better to be honest.

I think he made them unbeatable, and made me really hate him/GS. They were one game away from sweeping the entire postseason.
Yeah but I do believe that his absence would have just made a few of those series go to 6 games or something. I think they would have still won.

And we share the same sentiment on him and the team.

@lograd98

That there is no possible way adding a top 3 player to your team does not make you better.

Sorry about the delay. I’ve been in meetings all day for a new job. Haven’t had a chance to even look at this yet.

I never said he didn't make them better, I said he didn't make them that much better. I did say that an argument could be made that the chemistry issues he created also held back the team somewhat. The year before he arrived they won 73 games. The next 3 years their win totals went to 67, then 58, then 57. Why didn't they stay in the high 60's if he made them that much better?

I think they would still have won it all whether he arrived or not so his presence did not matter in their title chases. That is my opinion on it.
