Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

There's actually three camps: protesters, protesters/rioters, rioters.

Protesters are non-violent demonstrating for change via their voice and presence.

Protesters/Rioters are demonstrating for change, but doing so through destruction and outfitting their wardrobe/living room as they feel that action, not voices, are what is needed.

Rioters are simply agents of chaos who break things and start fires and very often don't steal anything. Incite the situation, cause anarchy, leave the scene. Rinse and repeat.

Antifa's out there and white supremacists are as well as they hope this will start their long-theorized race war. Both groups are ones that have no business being around.

I hope you weren't implying antifa's were in some way hoping for any sort of war, much less a race war. At protests where you don't see white supremacists, antifa seems to be non-violent.

Okay but what action? I’m serious when I ask how will this create change? That is, what is going to change? Is racism going to simply be vanquished? That’s where I’m stumped with all this. The protests need to happen. If it’s me, I’m peacefully protesting by blocking Wall Street (I imagine traders hit the floor from below ground but don’t know)—is there anything that reeks of white male wealth more than Wall Street? Maybe sitting down in streets and standing across sidewalks in downtown Manhattan. IDK. But again either way at the end of this, I’m not sure what changes are expected. Changes in law enforcement NEED to occur but beyond that, I’m not sure where we go.

Cops need to be prosecuted and convicted much much more frequently for one imo. They need to have repercussions for doing dangerous, irresponsible, criminal things.

Antifa seems to be non violent? Sarcasm or just don't know?

Neither. Lots of people have linked antifa violence, but so far none where antifa was the instigator. Do you have examples of antifa initiating violence?

If you present examples, please keep in mind the importance of caveats like "initiating", "instigator", and "At protests where you don't see white supremacists".

I did miss the part about "white supremecists" which might be true, although a bunch of **** went down in portland at a climate change march due to antifa a little bit ago.

And if that doesn't happen, what then? Wait some more? Shut up and accept the status quo?

Yes. If change doesn't happen right away you continue to push for it in ways that make bridges, not enemies. The most successful social movements over the past 200 years are based on legal and non-violent approaches (think gay or women's rights). When methods used are violent or infringe on other's rights the social cause is always slowed down (think backlash to LA riots). The fight is being won, the US is much more aware and supportive of racial injustice now than it was just a few years ago. This stuff is hard and there is no single magic bullet, so it takes a lot of time.

Really cool to see fascists in congress with their masks completely off.

No quarter would be a war crime even in a declared war. Offering no quarter to protesters would be something in the crimes against humanity realm. Which seems exactly what Trump and some of the fascists in Congress appear to want. In all honesty, once Trump is gone, what are we going to do about these smart fascists? Trump is a moron. But Cotton isn't. Who thinks keeping him in power is a good idea?

I’ve covered the law enforcement angle in other threads and agree. But there will still be cop on black homicides. There just will.

I just want to say, I appreciate and respect law enforcement officers.
They have a tough job. I believe most of them are good people and nearly all of them do more good than harm.
I hate that they get condemned by the biased court of public opinion prior to having their day in court.

What is even going on there? Looks like two white kids and one black...but what are they doing? Looks like they may have been holding cans of spray paint? But I didn’t see them spray anything.

I guess he saw them tagging things and chased two teenagers down and took their cans. When Bones Jones is your moral compass, you know you're struggling but good for him.

Not sure what the angle here is, but Antifa aren't peaceful at all. They're instigating panic, fear and chaos. They're also largely young, white males who apparently have nothing better to do.

Are you capable of being specific and writing out your thoughts or disagreements? You literally quote me and respond with some vague complaint like what I'm writing is so ludicrous.
@Ron Mexico - is capable of having a discussion and responds to what I say.

I'm not sure why you're such a hack about but it's apparent you condone riots, looting, and burning **** down that or you think you're so woke and and so philosophical and responding as ****ing vague as possible to my comments that you're some how better.

Cool, dude. Move along.
You don’t know **** about my position on things. So, your characterization of me is just one in a long list of things you’re leaping erroneously at. **** off, frat boy.
