So it turns out Mike's wife is due the end of August. My guess is he plays the regular season and maybe a game or two in the playoffs before heading home. Regular season wraps 8/14... so he could play the whole first round depending on due date.

I don't blame the guy for missing this... I likely would opt out. Obviously bigger than basketball and hope everyone is able to be healthy.

That said.... Holy **** this trade can't catch a break. Terrible luck and timing. **** 2020.

2020... worst year ever

I heard DL put a “NWG 2020” sign in his yard.

Don’t worry, though:

Mitchell
Clarkson
Ingles
Brantley
Gobert

What is Mike going to do that either the mother or a hired nurse can't? Kids don't do anything interesting the first several months anyways. The 4 to 6 weeks after he might as well be in a situation that allows him to exercise off the stress.
If he leaves I get it, but I also won't judge if he stays.

And why be there to teach them how to ride a bike? The neighbor could do that. Hell, you could pay someone minimum wage to do that.
I pay someone to be a dad to my kids... he's way better at it and does so much less yelling.

For >>>$30 million he can miss a few weeks of his kid’s life.

Then again, he’s thus far consistently made us a worse team so maybe bounce.

I’d have a hard time missing the birth of a child. The extra cash he makes is not as significant to him as it would be for us obviously.

I just want him to play as long as he can. We have a pretty tough schedule. I hope he plays well so we do well. I hope he plays well so he has more trade value this summer if we go that route. If he plays poorly, that also shows he was just a poor fit.

We need him to play as long as possible. This summer is so massive for us in terms of who we keep, trade, re-sign, etc. We need as much data as possible so we can make the best decisions possible.

He’s made >$150M thus far (from NBA contracts alone). That kind of money gives ability to be much more flexible. If I had enough money for a lifetime and was told to go live in a bubble for four months away from my family and miss the birth of my child so the league can give the appearance of taking the apocalypse seriously, I’d politely tell them to **** off.

Y’all are catching me on the wrong side of my beliefs. I just can’t believe how bad this **** has sucked and I am venting.

That’s fine... he would miss out on some pay for what it’s worth. This season has sucked this trade has sucked my attitude sucks... mike is such a good nice dude... maybe he catches fire and leaves us with a good taste in our mouths.
