Songs by commercial artists that weren’t singles but could have been

...Still waiting to hear about teh surprising non-singles from Phil Collins’ repertoire...

Yup, but never released as singles. Never understood why.
On the other side of this, I don't know why radio stations aren't pushing more none-released (as singles) stuff from albums.

Radio and singles are largely irrelevant, so it doesn’t matter.

And, it lets us know what kind of radio you’re taking about when you talk like this. There are hundreds to thousands of radio DJ sets a day that play non-single stuff. Youths don’t even really know what a single is anymore since that format doesn’t really correspond to streaming service stuff.

Various college radio stations have been largely dedicated to obscure stuff for as long as I can remember.

Guis,

Does anybody have good resources for how to troubleshoot my recent dos system failure?

Hmm. I guess I never realized they weren't singles since they've always had radio play as if they were.
I think PJ was kind of sabotaging their career at that point. For Vitalogy they released obscure songs as singles, like Immortality or Tremor Christ. Catchy ones, like Betterman, Corduroy or Nothigman were not singles. Pretty sure their label was pulling their hair out (Epic/Sony)

I would but my expertise is only in uno system failure.

Listening to Pearl Jam from Flinders Park (now Rod Laver area) in 95, think it may have been the first gig I went to., was definitely the same tour.

Not a terrible first show for a 12yo in 1995
True. I just like giving Pearl Jam fans ****.... mostly because that band is so wildly overrated. It’s hard for me to compare them to anyone else in terms of overratedness.

My first concert was ZZ Top, 4th row. I was 12 and just starting to appreciate women in the pubescent sense. It was exhilarating.

Pearl Jam's first album was great. Everything after that was kind of boring.

But for me, the most overrated band is Aerosmith. They had about 3 great songs (Sweet Emotion, Dream On, Walk This Way. OK, and Janie's Got A Gun), but everyone treats them like they belong on the Mt Rushmore of Rock.

While I’m not a huge Aerosmith fan, for me that band is Bon Jovi. Holy hell. If there is ever a fake rock band, it’s Bon Jovi.

Very true RE Aerosmith. Most of their catalog is embarrassing.

I nearly start to seize when I hear a Bon Jovi song. There’s something disgusting about their sound.

Slippery When Wet was my first cassette tape lol
