Why Rondo is Better than Williams! He can travel!

Winning championships, Rondo has 1 (maybe 2 soon) and Deron has none (and won't win any here if our team stays the same as currently construsted), why? Because Deron doesn't have a better team around him. The Utah Jazz will lose Deron Williams I guarantee it, if we don't show signs of putting better pieces around him, and Deron will do what Cleveland fans don't want LeBron to do which is win a championship in someone else's jersey, a team that will be willing to spend the money to build a championship team, not just a good team that wins alot of games and loses in the playoffs (ie. the Jazz), but a title winning team.

I agree with your conclusion, but it seems you are arguing against a point that the author did not make. The author does not say "that single play make Rondo better than Williams", he says "this play is a perfect example why."

Rondo keeps his all-around game together all the time. He's learned to do it this year.

Deron on the other hand:

1- Bitches and whines instead of running back to defend.
2- Becomes a one-man arsenal in close games, scoring impressively but letting the other players cool off.
3- Lets his passion get the better of him.

the reason rondo is "better" then will is that he get more national tv exposure and has won a championship, and sadly most nba fans only know what espn tells them to think

I've seen Deron make plenty of hustle plays also, if that's what the author is trying to imply? There is no article really, when I opened it up I figured there'd be more than just a few words and a clip.

Another thing-his header is in regards to Rondo/Dwill. Does that mean he is merely comparing the two, or implying that they are the 2 best in the NBA at the position? Hard to tell but at least Deron garners enough respect that it doesn't say "Why Rondo is better than Chris Paul (or Parker, or Kidd, Nash, etc)"

Isn't Rondo a better defender? I agree the Celtics overall are a better team than the Jazz, but I do think Rajon Rondo has managed to put together a better all-around game than Deron that goes beyond just being surrounded by more all-star type players.

Perhaps (or maybe definitely) he's had better mentoring from veteran players. I think that's something that's definitely been lacking for Deron with the Jazz, for the most part.

Um, Deron can't dunk better than every PG out there. I can name a bunch that are much better dunkers than he is. He's not even the best dunking PG on the team.

Deron can't dunk? Try these....

Can you read? I never said Deron can't dunk.

Not saying he's always made them but, if its in the final seconds of a close game, i'd much rather have Deron shooting than Rondo. But of course, in the closing seconds of a game, Boston's likely looking for Pierce or Allen, whereas Deron's the best option we have (Memo when healthy would be 2nd IMO).

....you replace Rondo with Deron....and the Celtics probably sweep through the playoffs! There's nothing that Rondo does that Deron doesn't do better! Rondo just has a much better supporting cast than we do. Deron is just as quick, smarter, much better outside shooter, rebounds as well.....is more coachable. Heck, I can't think of a single thing Rondo does better than Deron, can you? Nobody in his right mind would trade Deron for Rondo at this stage of their careers!

For the last two posters that say he would be average or there's nothing Rondo can do better than Deron Williams. Let's start with crazy triple doubles. Rondo boards better than DWill and there's not question about that. I think DWill is better (especially his shot) but Rondo is silky smooth good.

Rondo wasn't even in the conversation when "best PG in the league" was the hot topic here and in the media. I may have seen him crack the top 5 on a few lists, but I'm not sure.

He has a couple of good series, and suddenly, the short-term memory loss sufferers on this board start revering him.

I still remember when Maynor played okay for a bunch of games, and some called for him to start.

Nothing to see here.

ok, show me who can dunk better.......

The homerness is so severe here, I'm afraid I'm not going to answer that. Ok, maybe I will, let's start with Rondo. I've seen him do a 360 in a game. There's Rose, Price, Brown (I consider him more of a pg even though he plays SG.) Monta Ellis, maybe even Westbrook. Deron is a good dunker, one of the best in game right now, but there is now way he's the best. Have you watched Rose or Brown's dunks?

They are pretty dang close. I think they are about equal passers, but Deron is a better shooter and Rondo is a better defender. Guess whatever your team needs.

During the Boston-Orlando series, fans chanted "MVP" for a Celtic. No, not KG. Not Pierce, nor Allen... It was Rondo, and he deserved it.

Aaand what I said:

"Rondo keeps his all-around game together all the time. He's learned to do it this year.

1- Bitches and whines instead of running back to defend.
2- Becomes a one-man arsenal in close games, scoring impressively but letting the other players cool off.
