What's new

Tammy Sloan: "I just don't see him staying retired."

Sounds like she wants more cash flow. Why else would someone that young marry someone that old?

When he first retired I thought there was no way he would coach again, but now I wouldn't be surprised. He loves the game too much to stay away.

This screams bad karma for us.

I have a feeling Jerry is going to join a successful franchise like the Spurs and rip some nasty *** revenge on us. In addition, he'll also give New Jersey a huge spanking....

In the next few years the Spurs are probably going to rip off someone... Whether it be the Magic for Dwight or LA for the Griffin...

They'll also find a few all-stars in the 2nd round, cuz they're the Spurs....

And will be competing for a title once again in 3 years.

Pop already loves Sloan. Those two together would at least be entertaining to watch on the sidelines (and even more fun to listen to...)

I'm not worried. He can take his poor strategies for player development and poor in-game management elsewhere.

Even to San Antonio.

How did you come up with anything you said based on the topic? Tammy Sloan, "I just dont see him retiring", and then a small clip of a couple of thoughts off the top of the breain. Next thing you know, your ready saying, (In Butters voice) OH BOY FELLAS!!! I CAN WAIT TO SEE SLOAN AND POPAVICH TAKE IT TO EM!!! Really?? Popavich will be yelling at them while Jerry Sloan figures out witch side of the jar to open up his baby food with?? Did you watch planet of the Ape's and started to identify characters in the movie as family members? Maybe then you started the interrogation process asking them where they're hiding their ship? My lord, keep posting, yah, good idea.

This is depressing. I wonder if Phil Johnson will go with him.

Why did we have to lose both of them??? :(

So I've had a change of heart. I got to the end of the article and saw the list of coaches with the most wins. I can't stand the idea of Don Nelson at the top of it.

Come back Sloan! I don't care what team it is! 115 wins... you could do it in 3 years!

NBA’s winningest coaches

Coach, wins, teams

1. Don Nelson, 1,335

Bucks, Warriors, Knicks, Mavs

2. Lenny Wilkens, 1,332

Sonics, Blazers, Cavs, Hawks, Raptors, Knicks

3. Jerry Sloan, 1,221

Bulls, Jazz

4. Pat Riley, 1,210

Lakers, Knicks, Heat

5. Phil Jackson, 1,155

Bulls, Lakers

Sloan to Lakers? They are the only really talent team I can think of that will need a new head coach soon.

This doesn't suprise me at all. I've brought this up on the board before, but I used to work for Tammy Sloan back when she was Tammy Jessop. She is a shrew to the tenth degree. The day after Sloan retired, myself and a former co-worker who also worked under Tammy were talking about how there is no way Sloan will be able to put up with her day in and day out and it's only a matter of time before he's driven back to coaching.

given the right circumstances, if he does come back to coaching basketball, I don't think it necessarily has to be as head coach of an NBA franchise

Completely agree. I think Sloan would be satisfied being an assistant where he still has an opportunity to teach, coach, and be around basketball. One other coach who has tremendous respect for Sloan is Doug Collins. Sloan was actually Collins' favorite player growing up and the two are good friends within the coaching ranks.

The best phrase I heard right after DWill was traded on national ESPN radio was that the Jazz front office used the toilet paper and then took a dump. The basketball analysts were absolutely dumb founded that the Jazz lost both an all star and hall of fame coach because of management's ineptitude.

Do you think the U ever contacted him?
You know I thought the same thing except I doubt he would want to recruit but I could see him being some kind of consultant or special asst of some type, not sure it would be college though. Who knows though he does have a history with Krystkowiak being a former player.
