I didn't mean it derogatory Governments are great!!
Atheists don't worship the government or yearn for greater government control as some sort of ideological part of atheism. You sound like you got your info about atheism from the 1950s.

Another reason to legalize?
Today I read that because marijuana is classified as a schedule 1 drug, there can't be proper research done on it. Can't test it on humans.

So if it were legalized then the many many millions of users would be able to get better info on the risks/benefits of use.

...said everyone that just wants to get high.

Are JazzFanz for or against the herb.

The root of all insanity is ignorance? nah...... Insanity is a dysfunctional operation of logic.

This thread is basically insane. Emotional perhaps, but still insane.

So I voted against "legalization of the herb", but because no government has any expertise or fundamental authority, or any justification whatsoever, regulating people's use of stuff. The government can have no authority to do what a single person has no authority to do, because governments can have no power legitimately which is above what people can do personally.

If we want to build a road on our land, that's our business. If ten thousand people want to build some interconnecting roads on their property, that's their business. They might need to buy some strategic parcels, whatever. So as a nation we can build an Interstate, a national railroad or a national canal if we want. All we have to do is legally buy the land and pay for the materials and labor..

"herbs" is a term used with unparalleled insanity. There is no natural plant or plant product that has no effects, zero effects, in any use. This stuff is all "chemicals", and there's no exemption from toxic effects for "natural" chemicals. Sure the stuff we make from stinking petroleum is most toxic, or has residual toxic compounds, but there's no intrinsic virtue in calling anything a "herb"....... It presumes we know how to do something useful, beneficial, with it. But, largely, we really know very little about plant chemicals..... Not much serious research. To get scientists to do serious research, you need serious money. Grants from pharmaceutical corporations or governments with dogs in the fight and expectations for useful results. So they buy the prostitute science. And we still know next to nothing.

legalization of weed means a whole lot of mass stupidity, people paying big bucks to mess with their minds and get ever stupider........

Not a grand idea. Not much better than having authoritarian governance.

People like Biden are authoritarians whose love for idiocy is is unlimited, precisely because they imagine they can tax whatever people want, and pocket a lot of the loot somehow.....

Bunch of pot smoking communists!!!!

Let's get this straight. Communist governments regulate more stuff than non-communist governments. And where is the literature that builds the myths of the virtues of communists being "high" rather than dedicated to the cause.

@babe why not just treat it like any other herb and just let people grow it? No taxes or anything of that nature.

It'd get a lot of people into gardening and nature which is the single greatest thing I can think of! They'd study fertilizers, insects, weather etc etc It'd be more successful than schools.
