I wouldn't say Quin belongs to any one tree, he has experience in a lot of places and he is nowhere near rigid as Budenholzer.

Morgan started 2 play-off games. He did not start once in regular season.

We also had different strategies for Murray, team just did not execute it with any consistency. We double him, picked him up early, dropped Rudy to make Murray's defender recover. This team just does not have defensive awareness outside of Rudy and Royce.

Quin just seems a little slow to counter at times. Not til game 7 did we seem to be effective and even then, I wonder how much of that was because of Murray getting banged up.

I put some of the blame on DL too. The kak started to get bakd last summer with the annoiting of Tony Bradley and the signing of Green and Davis. Willie Reed and George King were run off despite having decent summer leagues. Favs and Raul were run off for cap purposes. Then there was the trade for Conley. Then Green get's released and X is traded for Clarkson which was a real positive. Tucker is signed and gathers splinters. At no time did Quin offer Tucker, NWG, JWF, Brantley, Oni, or Morgan meaningful minutes until the playoffs when Morgan got some time. Mudiay ceased to exist in Quin's world. It seems like when there were times when our bench stunk, he should have turned to the youngsters to see if they rose to the occasion. Then there is Quin's bout with truthfulness. Remember why he got canned at Missouri? I'm amazed the Millers ever hired him. He kept peddling the tale that X was too injured to play. Then the trade occurs and X goes out and drops 28 points on someone. So we have the starting five and Clarkson. The rest of the team is garbage. I bet you could call up the non-two way Stars players like Collinsworth, Pryor, Bluiett, Reed, White, Haas and Scott and do as well or better win wise.

I'm saying maybe you adjust and have him come up higher on the screen, maybe you try a zone, maybe you try something different to slow him down a bit. We don't try those things during the season so we don't know if they will work and then in the playoffs we keep hitting the same note hoping the sound will be different.

We have also gotten routinely roasted by shot making guards... and just said we drop big and if they make the shots they win. Problem is a lot of good teams have those players... it might be the reason our record against good teams is bad.

It’s nothing but diminishing returns on Drop Big scheme from here on out. It can be in your bag, but if it’s your main jam, then you’re gonna get beat. The best guards have adjusted too efficiently already..... give the league one more offseason and you’ll see a huge rise in efficiency on off-the-dribble 3s. Imo.

There was another guy who coached our beloved Jazz that came from the same school of thought. He may have been even more reluctant to adjust and cost what will arguably be our only chance at a title. I still admire Coach Sloan, but had he been able to ride a hot hand on occasion, we just may have won a chip.

Oh man this hits home... If anyone is curious, go take a look at those box scores for both the 1997 and 1998 finals. Malone consistently playing only 35-40 mpg. Stockton/Hornacek playing around 30-35mpg. It was a mess... Game 5 1997 jazz have a chance to go up 3-2 but Malone doesn't cross the 30 minute mark? I get he was in foul trouble but still. Jazz should 100% have a title but they choked.

Routinely benching Mitchell for long periods of time while Murray and/or Jokic were both on the court still. This lead to multiple runs by Denver and painful possessions on offense. This happened during multiple games of the series.

Refusing to double Murray or try anything different on him until Game 7.

Not challenging any calls or even fighting for calls during the entire series and especially the non-call at the end of Game 7 when Rudy got smacked in the face on a dunk.

Quin was horrible during this series and should most definitely be on the hot seat.

He should but he won't be. He's the Dwane Casey of the Jazz.

The Jazz had 3 key turnovers the last few minutes of game 7.

Hell even run some zone to help Rudy not have to track down stretch 5s... they are abundant and there is no way you won't deal with a team that stretches you out at some point.

If Rudy is a franchise cornerstone and paid like one... then he has to be as effective as possible in the playoffs. We have to help him out with that.

And like don't get me wrong... I like having foundation items in the game plan to build off of... I like trying to make your opponent beat you at what you do best. But if they are beating you regularly then you must adjust.

I really wanted to play the Clips so we could see Rudy in the playoffs against a non-shooting big and see how much impact he could have... sigh.
