Following Potential 2020 draftees

Could Oni be that guy ?
Probably not, but who knows. He's fairly untalented (has a poor scoring feel), but he has great length, seems like a smart player, and is a solid 3pt shooter. Comes down to how much he can develop defensively. If he isnt a plus defender he probably won't be in the NBA too long. His upside is a 3&D guy w/ passing ability. I guess he could be a starter, but if you're starting Oni + Royce then you are putting a lot of pressure on Donovan to be your only penetrator and creator.

Well if he likes hunting then Utah is definitely in the mix. :) I do not know enough about college basketball anymore, but I really want the Jazz to find some legitimate help for our bench. I want to see an athletic long defensive minded SF who isn't afraid to shoot the ball when they are open.

I've seen him as a post-injury Rudy Gay. I just don't believe much in his upside. He could come off the bench, be a tough defender and make a few shots at the 4 spot. Maybe a somewhat less athletic James Johnson is another comp. I think he's a 2nd rounder.

If I were him, I'd try to pattern my career after Montrez Harrell and be a really physical 4/5 who pounds the glass and can shoot a bit.

Miye Oni can do this more or less. Woodard is more likely to be a 4, imo.

Yeah, I dont think he has much upside either, but he can be an invaluable role player like PJ Tucker. And who knows, maybe some ball skills develop down the line and he does have the potential to play the 5 if teams want to go ultra-small. I'm not sure when he measured his wingspan or if 7'1.5 is an official measurement, but the guy is freaking huge. I think his combine numbers are going to be off the chart and he is going to interview well.

I think the comps Scmidht laid down (OG, Jae) are way closer than Harrell. Idk why anyone would want to pattern their game after a small ball 5 who cant shoot or defend.

There are only a couple guys I don't really care for in our range... so prepare for us to draft Nico Mannion or Tre Jones.

all good points

If I were the Jazz, I'd see if I could get Minnesota's pick at #17. I'd take Saddiq Bey, Aleksej Pokusevski or RJ Hampton. Brooklyn is also probably willing to move #19, and one of those guys might still be available. This is why it sucked to drop back from #20 to #23 in the draft order. Being at #20 would put us in better position to move up.

If the Jazz stay at #23, I'd do serious due diligence on Jaden McDaniels. Tyler Bey would be a good fall-back option.

Regarding Bolmaro, I could see Boston taking him to stash with one of their late 1sts (26, 30).

I'd look more into buying into the 30's than trading up into the late teens.

He could be a slightly lesser version of SGA. The question is -- how much lesser? I think he's a rotation player, but there are others with higher ceilings for sure. He doesn't seem to have much burst.
YEah, that's why I think he's kind of boring. He just seems like a solid player. He's probably being discounted a bit because of how much Frank Ntlikina busted, so if he drops to 23 you might have to draft him because he's a good fit next to Mitchell long-term. I need to know more about his defense before I buy in though. Best thing about him is his age and the fact that he's putting up good numbers in the Euroleague.

Comps for RJ Hampton -- Jordan Clarkson and Zach Lavine.... assuming Hampton's shooting comes together.
These are terrible comps... I watched maybe 10 of his games this year in the NBL and I followe dhim closely as a recruit and i really think ur hardselling him short in areas that he's infact pretty advanced in for his age...

RJ hampton's game isnt to stack assists tho he can if needed, definitely not a greedy offensive player or a ballstopper in any way, and for damn sure he isnt Exum levels of passive either..

he's like many talented guards who score easily and have been working on his floor general qualities --- and he's made plenty of progress there....
