I've been draft obsessed the past couple of weeks and I've been watching a lot of basketball. Got me thinking about Lamar Peters, a guy who went undrafted last year.

Dude was thought to have a shot of being a lottery pick once upon a time, but never really learned how to be an efficient college player and being undersized caused him to get overlooked.

He's definitely more talented than JWF and he should be brought over on a 2-way deal. Has one of the nastiest step-back packages I have seen in quite some time with how quickly he can change pace and stop on a dime. He's a flashy passer who can really penetrate due to his handle and find the open man. If he's cleaned up the inefficiency in his game, he's a really exciting player. According to his G-League stats, he's really honed his shooting ability 40% on 9 attempts per game. He still can't get to the foul line and is turnover prone though.

At one point the Jazz "really loved" Peters (this account belonged to Tony Jones at the time when he was a Trib writer).

An interesting note was he was coached by former Jazz player Randy Livingston in high school. One GLeague game last year he had 19 points and 19 assists. I have the feeling JWF is dead to the Jazz coaches and front office right now.

Nice compact lefty shooting stroke, reminds of D'Angelo Russell. I wonder if the Jazz FO scratched the itch though when they picked up JWF.

I have the feeling that JWF is not the apple of the eye for the Jazz FO. It seems like all of our two way players in history have had a very short leash and then out the door. I think Niang might be the sole "success" story.

He's shooting 40% from 3 in the G-League, Rayjon was hitting 39% from 3 in the G-League. It's not exactly an over whelming difference.

JWF, Trevon Bluiett and Tyler Cavanaugh have better GLeague 3 point shooting stats than Peters. JWF did something to fall out of favor.

Uhh, this is not Peters vs Tucker lmoa. Tucker is an off-guard with incredible hops. Peters is a point guard.

Good point. I'm just not sure they are looking for a PG. Donovan Mitchell and Conley seem to take up 68 minutes at the PG spot. I think if the Jazz bring in another guard in the Donovan Mitchell era, they are probably looking for another combo guard who can play significant minutes at the 2. Just my 2 cents.

I mean, they signed JWF to a 2-way deal last year. They are certainly interested in developing one.

All of you Jonas J fans, he had 30 points 10 boards in leading his Euro team to a win yesterday. Still rather have Niang than him?

No thanks. We suffer too much from the smallness syndrome. We need to size up, not down.
Exaxtly. Watch the finals - how many 6 ft players do you see? Not many for Boston or Denver either. Compound that with Don being 6'1".

We need size and athleticism
