What's new

Pelicans openly shopping Holiday.

Think Jrue is bit overrated. Offensively I think he'd struggle in Utah more than people think. I wouldn't want to trade for him personally. He's also going to cost a ton after he opts out this next year.

I think the most the Jazz can offer is Mike/Royce/1st. I think two first would be too much and I would even be hesitant to do the Royce/Mike/1st deal.

I'd say we just steer clear from acquiring another pg and make DM our main pg. Nothing has worked every since we started acquiring guards like George Hill, Ricky Rubio and Mike Conley. Well, Ricky kinda did but even so. It'll be just a waste of time and assets.

Mitchell is a 27/6/3 PG if he’s in that role full time. After Mike I want to shift away from all this splitting time at the guards and just keep the ball in Mitchell’s hands and find him some more help in the trenches

Holiday ain't really a pg... he has more wing tendencies. He'd be a monster for us defensively... he is a great fit. We don't have the assets to get it done and will easily be outbid. We done shot our wad on Mike.

I think this ends up being a Denver or Brooklyn move. They have the right mix of assets and he'd fit quite well.

The Hawks will end up doing a deal this offseason too... sounds like the GM there is under some significant win now pressure. Bet they move their pick if they can get a good veteran piece.

I agree Holiday would be a terrific fit. I disagree we "shot our wad" on Mike. You are basically saying, we could trade Mike Conley for Jrue, but they would have jumped at a trade package that included Grayson Allen and Jae Crowder? That seems unlikely. Whatever Conley's short comings, it's not like we gave up a bunch of All-Stars to get him.

Whatever value Grayson, Crowder and a potential late first round pick had on the market - Conley's value is equal to or greater than that currently.

Homey we gave up 2 picks... so if we had Bazley or Clarke, plus an extra first next year then maybe we could make something work. The next first we can send is in 2023 (most likely) so that pick has less value than a pick earlier. They would rather have Allen, whatever prospect we took last year, and a pick next year than Conley and a pick we can cobble together. We can do other trades but a trade this big is out of our range.

He is so underrated that he is overrated like Conley a few years ago.

I think he's great on D, but overrated on O. New Orleans has played so uptempo and open that's inflated his numbers. He's a mediocre shooter on top of that. I'm just not giving up two picks and a rotation defender for a marginal upgrade at PG.

Jrue would fit very well. Don't let anybody tell you differently. On offense, he plays like a 2. He doesn't need the ball in his hands to make an impact on offense. He can guard 1, 2 or 3 on defense. Defense is his thing.

So he wouldn't get in Don's way on offense and he would allow Don to guard the worse option on defense. Jrue is a much better fit than Conley.

George Hill did work, when he was healthy, not the Jazz' fault he had a stupid agent and didn't want the larger contract they offerred during the season only to get much less in the off season.

George Hill actually worked to well and his stock skyrocketed in the time frame we could extend him. I think every PG the Jazz have bought has been a success, they just have each had their own flaws and setbacks. Also think Jazzfanz have some unrealistic expectations in regards to the position.

They haven’t been very successful once you look at the enormous cumulative costs of bringing them on board. The PG position has been pretty disaster out, to say the least
