What's new

Joe Biden - 46th President!

weird speech.

Biden hasn’t bragged about his penis size, hasn’t gotten the crowd to chant racism, and hasn’t whined about the media’s coverage of him. He also used complete sentences and praised his wife and VP.

It was a generic acceptance speech, he’s no Obama speaking but few are, but honestly, words matter little right now. We need actions.

One more reason I don't think our nation won't heal was how the crowd responded when Biden made these two statements.
1. "We have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies. They are Americans". Crowd responds mildly.
2. "I'll work as hard for those who didn't vote for me as those who did". Crowd literally stays silent.

But I am glad Biden ended his speech talking about God and spreading the faith, even though that is frowned upon by a lot of Democrats these days.

Lol. OK, bud.

Feel free to contrast their mild reactions to a call for unity to crowds of Trump supporters wildly losing their **** chanting that the other side should be imprisoned.

Feel free to contrast chants of Trump supporters to what liberals have done in Portland, Philadelphia, and other major cities - vandalize, burn, loot, and riot.

Maybe many on the left look at “Christians” with skepticism because those “Christians” supported a man who swore and lied nonstop, bragged about grabbing women by their privates, called for imprisioning his political opponents, abused the government for personal gain, said two Corinthians, abused immigrant children, gassed people to hold the Bible upside down, and acted as antithetical to the gospel as I’ve ever seen a president act.

Im a white Christian and Trump has caused me to self reflect so much over the last four years. Why don’t other white Christians do the same?

Make no mistake, Christians have a responsibility to rebuild trust with others. It’s not just a one way street, but a two way street. Where were fellow Christians during the Muslim ban? What happened to religious freedom there?

Damn people wanting an end to injustice. Good on you worrying more about the expression of pain and suffering that these people have endured then about the injustice that exists in our society.

And it must be made clear, those protests were focused on injustice, not on liberal politics. The fact that you conflate the two things says a lot more about what you must think conservative ideology stands for, which clearly is to oppose social justice.

You're sick and you should get help. It's gross and no one wants your nastiness to spread.

Yup, this dude's reply here serves as just another reason on the long list of reasons why our nation won't heal.

At least I have liberal friends that are not crazy like this Gameface person and are actually decent people. So there's some comfort there. Just wish they weren't outnumbered by the extreme ones.

Or have their heads cut off and put on pikes outside the white house.

After they take a drubbing in the midterms after not accomplishing a single thing in the pursuit of compromise with Mitch McConnell of course.
One advantage Biden has is that he is actually friends with McConnell (or was up to four years ago at least). Once the pressure of Trump has work off, there is a possibility of more cooperation. Unless McConnell cannot come back from the dark side.

I also wonder if the relief that Congress members, even Republicans, will feel without the chaos of Trump will make everyone more amenable to working together. I'm hoping that the Trump effect wears off quickly. Maybe wishful thinking.
