Bench:

Harrison/NWG
Clarkson/Oni
Royce (Could be Ingles)/Hughes
Niang/Morgan
Favors/Udoka

Brantley and Forrest on 2-way deals.

Jazz got one of the best bench scorers and the best bench big. Royce is a proven high level defensive player and Niang is a proven shooter off the bench. Oni and Hughes are both potential two way studs. Harrison has intriguing situational potential. Morgan is a defensive alternative to Niang and potentially better overall. Udoka will fill in capably when needed and be a matchup problem. NWG probably gets cut, but I dont think he's that bad.

So overall I'm calling the Jazz bench an A-. Incredibly young, but the unit is led by two bench studs and has strong defensive potential.

I think its definitely Joe off the bench. Now that Bojan is back there are a few mouths to feed in that opening lineup. Could be Mike by end of season.

Think this has to be one of the best benches in the league, Lakers probably have the best still.

Favors+Ingles+Clarkson is a bench version big 3. Niang proved he can be effective and positive in a spot role last season. If one of Shaq or Oni pan out, this is a very well rounded and deep bench.

Solid A for me because I have a lot of faith in Oni+Shaq.

Bench flame thrower (JC)... check
Bench big to anchor the defense... check
Wing creator (Ingles)... check
Perimeter defender and energy guy... check
Another do it all wing prospect in Oni and a Plan B soak up 15-20 minutes when needed guy in Niang. Then they have some interesting prospects.

Ends up looking pretty nice. Gets an A from me.

I am optimistic about the bench especially if the young guys can play, I like the overall roster and the versatility we have this year. The Jazz are automatically better having Derek as the backup big. I like Udoka and think he will earn some playing time. Bogie coming back makes the bench better because it pushes either Ingles or Royce to the bench. I also like Hughes game and think he can earn minutes during the year. If Brantley, Morgan and Oni have noticeably improved then the jazz grade may improve to A-. Every team is going to need contributions from their bench due to the virus and cramp schedule. I am excited about the team and adding Shaq makes me even more excited.

Last year there were too many questions...

Ed was a solid vet but can he play the scheme?
Jeff Green?
How good is Niang?
Is Exum alive?

Then we had things we didn't see like... who will Joe run pick and roll with?

Plan B is supposed to prevent the minivan :p

I'll have to give it some thoughts but preliminary I'd say an A-. Keep in mind one of DM/BB/MC will be running with bench units.

It’s hard to not like Ingles-Favors-Clarkson as the backbone of the bench. That’s pretty legit.

When I went to rotation, I had Conley coming out early and running with the bench. I think this makes the most sense and it worked well at the end of last season. The bench lineup will be Conley+Clarkson+Ingles+Favors and the 5th will be split between a starter (likely Royce) and the 9th guy (Niang/Oni/Shaq).

Really solid unit to have in between the starter rotations.

Its pretty good imo... our biggest roster flaw is really a bigger dynamic two-way wing. I'd love to have a shooting big but there aren't many I'd say are good enough on defense to be better than Favs.

Outside of like dream scenarios... say Serge Ibaka wanted to come here... then I think we did pretty dang good. It was a bumpy ride to get there and we likely paid to much but I don't care about the price.
