Rudy Gobert 5 years, $205M

Damn. That's a lot of loot. I thought around 33M-35M per season would be a giving contract. Over 40M per season... that's pretty much half a million per regular season game for Rudy. Boggles my mind.
It took me a while to get my mind wrapped around how much money is spent in the NBA, I was comparing the day when Karl and John were making about 10 million and less during their primes and now you get for the mid level exemption. It is just a different world now-a-days, but if I had a son I would want him to grow up and either be a baseball or a basketball player. These guys also make money outside of the game too. The money given out today is just ridiculous.

He was solid last year. Issue is if he never gets the shot back he is close to his ceiling. And the shot is part mental part physical. I wouldn't bet on it.

Isaac is always hurt... they just bet big on two guys that would terrify me. Yeesh. Somewhere OG Anunoby is telling the Raptors whatever their last offer was they need to add 5M a year to it before they can talk.
Nevermind... OG gets 4/72M. I'd rather have OG than Isaac... surprised he didn't get a little more.

If y’all hate how much players are being paid, rail on the senselessness of our economic system. In the meantime, this **** is all relative and exists in the context that the game itself makes too much money. In two years, $40 million a year isn’t going to be shocking.

There is so much we don't know.

What we do know - Rudy did something in that locker room bad enough that nobody wants to bring it to the surface. Nobody came to Rudy's defense on his actions in the locker room. So whether Don got it hours before Rudy or not is irrelevant. Rudy was the first confirmed COVID case and his actions towards Don and maybe even others were unacceptable.

We are months away from this and it still baffles me that people bash Don for having a very human reaction to a very unprecedented situation.
Donovan and Rudy were confirmed the same evening, right?
Also, there was that report that Rudy intentionally went around touching personal items of people in mockery towards the concerns about the virus. That was one of the things for which he apologized. I'm not sure though if that was before or after he was diagnosed with COVID.
Before, for sure. If it happened. He didn't do anything like that after he tested positive.

Donovan’s was confirmed the next morning, but Donovan also never had one symptom either the entire time.

I hope so too. But too much has changed in his head IMO, all he thinks Utah is, is a backwards place thats ignorant and racist at this point, he's completely bought it at this point. You never see him involved here anymore. You never see him mention any of the local sports teams here anymore. Remember when he used to tweet about BYU, Utah football and basketball? Yeah that hasn't happened anymore has it? You've seen zero community involvement from him here in the past 10 months. He hasn't spent a second here he wasn't contractually obligated to. Wasn't even in Utah to sign his extension. Never acknowledged it. Never thanked the organization, fanbase, or community for the unabashed support he was shown for 3 years and the $163-195 million gold plated pay day and contract he got. I know Rudy, Joe, Quin, and other coaches within the organization have been involved and on calls with local leaders the past 6 months, Donovan has had no involvement and never been on any of those calls. And the fanbase has every right to cool on him when it's obvious he's lumped everyone in with those idiots in his comments sections. It doesn't matter his alma mater Louisvilles posts have the same comments, or every NBA and players page who posts about social and political issues, no Donovan believes you are all racist POS at this point and it's just the sad truth. People who don't see the really drastic change in his vibe towards Utah over the past 10 months are just being willfully blind. I have a toxic approach to this, but it's still the truth.
You are just assuming most of this. Maybe the virus and social unrest has been hard on him like most people. I have almost completely stopped posting on social media as well, it's just a thing people do. He's a young kid still figuring out the world. Your expectations of him we're too high. All your hate for him is based on your guess. You/we know next to nothing about him and what he actually thinks. Just enjoying watching him play, that's his job. If after awhile he chooses to play somewhere else, oh well. I've been upset about players stuff before as well, but it really doesn't matter much. It's just a game for fun. It shouldn't make you this angry or worked up. I'm guessing you're really young and emotional due to other things in life as well. Sports can be an outlet for it but don't let them bring you down.

He is often hurt, but I love Isaac's game. If he could stay healthy, he could become a star.

$20 million could end up being a great deal for Orlando.

Except he hasn't stopped posting on social media, he's still quite active on it, just not in regards to Utah even when he signs a $195 million payday with us. And JazzFanz is exactly the right place to get worked up. There's not, nothing to what I'm pointing out. There has been a significant shift the past 9-10 months on his attitude towards playing here. And no a lot of that isn't assumptions.

Ad far as the "Donovan as an SJW" comments, not sure if you're up on current events but it appears, at least by your definition, The Jazz are now owned by an SJW.

In light of this The Jazz may no longer be the team for you.

For sure, Ryan Smith will be a great owner who does a lot of good for the organization and state with his influence. Smith/Qualitrics have donated a lot to BLM, and plenty of other groups in regards to addressing theses issues. Smith also bought 50 meals per day for an entire month for employees at Qualtrics from local small restaurants back in March/April to help them during Covid. Ryan Smith is a great person and will be a great owner.

Listened to an athletic pod today and the Rudy slander was wild... saying myles turner is better and costs half as much... saying he’s Clint Capela with a raise... I guess he’s gonna have to go back out and prove the simps wrong again.
