Is Quin really a good coach?

That Knicks game showed some real lack of effort on defense by Mitchell, Gobert dropping balls and lacking effort, Bogie missing shots left and right, Niang in the purest of sickness, and Quin making no adjustments to high pressing wings.

Clearly adjustments were made on a lot of levels and we havent looked back. Thats the sign of good coaching imho. As a coach myself, at times I recognize failure points AFTER games and not during. Good coaching is learning from losses and correctly assessing issues so they don't happen again.

Quin has done that.

I wonder what kind of odds you could of got in Vegas for the Jazz to win 18 of the next 19 after the Knicks game.

This is a silly comment. Coaching in the NBA is different animal than whatever the **** you coach.

Quin is a really good coach and his guys are a really good team. I would love this Jazz team to win a ring not just because they play great basketball and have great chemistry, but also because it would be a middle finger to all these superteams that were formed in the past 10 years or so and it would prove that you dont need to bring 3 or 4 superstar players on one team to build a championship contender

Is this a stupid thread? Discuss.

Quin is a great coach. He has guided a team that wasn't in the playoffs to having a historic first third of the season. He has also done that with his two best picks being 13 and 27.

How can you say that he doesn't motivate hia players when are eight rotation players are all having career years. If the players didnt feel motivated, believed, tmust and respect Quin then we would not be who we are today.

You can say that you dont agree with his rotations and team play style but he has less this team to the best they have played since Stockton and Malone.

Proof is in that nation leading pudding. Quin Synder is a top coach in the league.

I think he is one of the best in the league. There are 7-8 elite coaches in the league who make big difference.

My list

Popovich
Rick Carlisle
Quin Snyder
Brad Stevens
Erik Spoelstra
Nick Nurse
Steve Kerr

These two have great potential

Mark Daigneault (OKC' new head coach)
Taylor Jenkins (Memphis)

I coach comp level youth sports. Of course it isn't the same, but coaching is coaching and quin made good adjustments.

This isn't a slight, its what has made him go from a player development coach to a top level coach imho. 6 months ago folks on this board were calling for his head.

When he was hired I thought he was very modern and ahead of the game...but nowadays, there's nothing unique about a spread PnR or drop coverage defense. The game has passed him. There are still a lot of bad/unproven coaches so I'd call him average. But he's definitely not one of the best coaches in the league. His reputation is better than his performance.

Besides X's and O's he also lost the locker room last season.

Ok dumbass. Stupid take.
