Official Rudy Gobert Trade Ideas Thread

If we want to keep Rudy, then you have to keep Conley since he's an asset who fits with Rudy that we can't let leave for nothing.

So our tradeable assets become Bojan and Clarkson. Joe won't have tangible value and Royce isn't worth trading.

So what could Bojan and/or Clarkson get us? I don't think much. Well not much in terms of quality perimeter defenders who aren't complete offensive liabilities.

Seems like Clarkson should fetch a lot. Just won 6th man and had some amazing stretches in the playoffs. I doubt his stock has ever been higher. Plus I could see someone thinking that he could be a starter and number 1 option on offense.
Has a decent long term contract too.

He is the one I would look to trade if we aren't trading Rudy. I get sick of the Jordan Clarkson roller coaster anyway

Rudy should be glad Jerry Sloan is not his coach
Imagine what Sloan would do and say to Rudy

Getting back Miles Bridges and PJ Washington in a trade for Rudy helps our timeline and I think those guys are solid pieces.

Clippers were 12-15 last night with Rudy as the primary defender. That doesn’t include the times where Reggie Jackson took it right at him at the rim and finished either.

The problem is Quin has no idea how to use 3 and D players. Why are Crowder and Green thriving in the playoffs when they had some some of their worst years with the Jazz?

We have already seen how bad the offense was when we go the defender route. That’s why DL went out and go scoring to try and outscore teams while hoping Rudy would hold it down enough on defense. We saw that didn’t work out and neither did the defender route. Our ceiling with Rudy on the team eating 1/3 of the salary cap is the 2nd round or the WCF.

Nah. If we did a deal it would be something like Rudy for Harrison Barnes and their first this year plus some filler. It won’t be a good return but part of that return needs to be a pick... otherwise you have no upside in the deal.

Everyone wants to keep avoiding the truth that you can't win with a High Volume Scorer as your best player. Gilbert Arenas, TMac,Carmelo, D.Wilkins all say hello. All was all stars, all won lot of regular season games and come playoff time all went home early. I know Donovan is loved here in Utah but we need to look at history that you can't win with a player like him. Best thing he could do is start training with Stockton or a Point guard in general. He needs to learn to play make for others because Jazz to easy to guard. Force Donovan to shoot alot and lock all others up. It's what Nuggets did in game 7, Clippers in Game 6. People will bash me but just wait until Four more years of this and then y'all will see where I was coming from
Steph curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James all say hello

Best players on teams that won a championship in the last two decades:

LeBron, Durant, Curry, Kawhi, Kobe, Wade.

We have a player in the conversation with those guys and shocker it’s not Rudy Gobert lmao.

Last team who won a championship with a Center like Rudy was the 2011 Mavs and Tyson Chandler was making 12.6M a year. So that’s a problem.

I actually remember a recent game this season when favors was killing it and quin kept Rudy on the bench way longer than normal and let favors close the game out. Rudy was the biggest cheerleader from the bench.

And if Rudy did in fact pout? Deal with it. Coaches sometimes might have to make hard decisions to win games that might piss their players off.

Hell quin should have probably brought Conley off the bench too for that matter.

Quin did what he did cause it's what he always does. He didn't avoid making adjustments cause he was worried Rudy wild pout. He avoided making adjustments because not making adjustments is what he does. It's kind of his thing.

These talking heads are morons.

I'm not exonerating Rudy from his trash performance at all, but benching him in a series where our defensive rating was 142 without him on the court obviously wasn't the answer.

Durant, Kobe, Wade, etc.
Ya. I mean volume scorers are pretty much the highest commodities and best assets you can have. Everybody wants volume scorers. For good reason. Being good at putting the ball in the basket is a good thing not a detriment.

Which is why I could see some teams clamoring for Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson is only making around 11/12 million per year and is on that cheap deal for 3 more years.
Seems like he could fetch something good in a trade.

Like I said someone would have to do the math but when we were up 75-50 I think we could have literally given up a layup every single possession and still have won.

Let's do some lazy math.

The game was very slow-paced, only 88 possessions each. So let's say the Clippers had 42 or so remaining possessions at the time we went up 75-50.

If we change nothing on offense, and decide to play them straight up on defense and concede the layup if they happen to get past their man, and they succeed at that at a ridiculously high rate (say, 80% of the time), that's 67 points given up.

We gave up 81 points in the 2nd half.

Wow.

Chandler was the 4th or 5th most important player on that team behind Dirk, Kidd, Terry and Marion.
