Those three would only be 95M of cap and we’d be close to the 136M luxury tax with everyone else. It’s not that hard to fathom. Just think of combining Clarkson/Royce/Ingles into one salary.

If you believe in Simmons you have those three locked up for 3-4 years and you go for it.
 
He will be making 30 million plus over the next 5 years. 38 million in year 5.

I mean he also a 3 time all star which is pretty sweet.
It was quite funny though when I went to basketball reference. Com and it lists players similar to his career arc. Who the **** are these guys?

Bob Davies played in the 40’s/50’s.

In just the last 3 seasons Simmons is a 3x All-Star, 2x All-Defensive 1st Team, 2020 Steals Leader, 1x All-NBA 3rd Team and 1x Runner-Up for DPOY.

If you can get this guy no matter his offensive limitations for Clarkson/Royce and one of either Ingles/Favors you would be crazy not too. Plus he’s locked up for the next 4 years with Donovan and Rudy.
 
It’s interesting. Simmons personality is an issue. He’s pretty arrogant. He’d be a great defender, but he can’t shoot……at all. Rubio could play make too, but couldn’t shoot a 3 to save his life. I don’t think Simmons would be worth giving a lot up for, but as a wing defender and playmaker, he’d be very interesting. The problem is he’s focused on being a main star, which I’m not sure he really is at this point until he improves some things.
