NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

The bucks had Craig in their roster THIS SEASON!
How in the world did they let him get away? Oh I bet he was traded for some really good stuff. No way they would let a player of that caliber go for nothing.
(Checks the Google).
That Cash Considerations guy must be really really good. Strange name though.

I'm learning so much about Craig lol. If nothing else, this discussion has taught me a lot about a guy that I knew nothing about, so thanks guys.

I will never get the 30 minutes of my life back that I dedicated to Torrey Craig research lol.

Moving on.....

Okay now do Niang...
Oh, I have never argued that niang was better this season in the playoffs than Craig. If all people were saying is, "Craig might have done better than niang for us this year in the playoffs" then I would have said "I agree, he might have" and we all would have moved on.

@fishonjazz is making some very valid points about Craig. I don't think he is the ultimate solution like some are making him out to be.

Maybe part of the solution is to play guys who we actually have. Why not see if Brantley or others can make any difference?

How could they have not given him a deal? He's freaking Torrey Craig for gods sake.

They signed Jamychal Green and already had Millsap those guys are better players. Green in particular is a guy I wanted. They didn’t have anymore budget for Craig.

You are being so dumb about this. Craig isn’t an all star. He’s just a solid rotation wing... one with some size who plays hard. We needed a guy in that mold and he was free. He would have been much better than Niang... EVEN IF HE DIDNT MAKE SHOTS. He’s currently making more shots than Niang. He’s scoring 13 pts and getting 9 rebounds per 36 in the playoffs... shooting 44% from three. If he is key in winning one playoff game per series then he has done his job.

Let's say the jazz have Craig on their roster instead of Brantley or Morgan or oni or whatever.

I'm sure that quin would have benched niang, the guy that he trusted all season long and that he seems to really really like and has been learning the system for multiple years, the Craig.

Because we all know that quin isn't rigid with his rotations and makes more on the fly adjustments game by game and even in the middle of a game than any other coach in the league.

There isn’t one solution... this is another trap we fall into... “player X is not the answer”. So why get player X? If player X is part of the answer and he costs nothing to get... then you ducking get him. There is a reason he’s available for NOTHING! It’s because he’s flawed... but his strengths might help in a matchup or two. If he was the answer he’d cost more. He was a good enough answer that he makes us better. Does he flip the series? No idea.

Read my most recent post in here. You actually thing quin would play Craig over niang? Lolz

The way Niang was playing in the playoffs he would have been benched... I really don’t have much doubt about it.

Now that's a fair post. I have no problem with you saying "does he flip the series? No idea".
That's not how these posts about Craig are coming across though.

Why wasn't he benched for forest then? Or Thomas? Or ersan? They couldn't have been worse right? Ersan even has those magical vet powers that I hear about.

He left Denver because they didn’t give him a deal. He was upset they didn’t offer him a contract. It’s one thing to have an opinion... it’s another to pick **** out of the sky.
Okay, so what are you reasons for thinking he would like it in Utah and fit in? My reasons he would not is comments about racial issues from years ago and rumors about why his qualifying offer was recinded. Why didn't he sign here as a free agent?

Yes... he shot 28% in the playoffs... he was a turnover and foul machine. Yes I believe Quin would have replaced him. Why do you think Quin and DL didn’t get along? Because Quin felt his options weren’t all that great.

You know what... you clearly have dug in here... I think it’s not all that smart... go ahead and ignore me when I talk about Craig then. If you don’t see the difference between a completely washed vet and a rookie on a two way and Craig then we can’t have a reasonable conversation.

Probably because we didn’t offer him the most money. Not saying he’d love it here but he’d like to get paid to play basketball. I’m sure Milwaukee (where he ended up signing)has a great relationship with black athletes... oh wait.

When you talk about Craig lol. I doubt you will even talk about Craig much if I don't. Like Craig is this big talking point on a jazz fan basketball forum. I think you will be ok to talk about Craig without me ignoring you. In fact, if you stick to things like "maybe he could have helped us" I likely won't even respond since I agree.
Just stay away from things that are more like "I can't believe the jazz didn't get Craig. He would have been huge for us" or "the suns wouldn't be where they are without Craig" things of that nature.

Mods can we change the name of this thread to simply The Torrey Craig thread? Tia

I'm just having fun here guys. No need to get so upset that not every jazz fan has a hard on for every suns player. I like some of their players guys, I promise.

I’ve been talking about Craig a lot. And it has been he would help us... and since he was free I can’t believe we didn’t get him... and yes he could have been huge for us. Never said Suns wouldn’t be where they are... they didn’t even need another wing. We did... desperately... and he could have been huge for us.

We had the same type of argument on Tucker. If you bring on a guy that helps you win a series that is huge... we had opportunities and passed. It’s incredibly frustrating.

And honestly... If I’m DL Craig is absolutely a guy I go get so I can point to someone when Ryan says the roster isn’t good enough. Tough to point at Forrest and Oni who have yet to prove they are nba players.

See I think you should use the word "might" help us since we don't really know.
Had ersan proved he was an NBA player before?

I agree. We needed multiple defensive options in addition to everything we had this season. Maybe one was already on our bench. Maybe we needed to add another. Regardless, I know that the rotation we ended up playing didn't have what we needed.

This board is hilarious. @LoPo is on another thread saying we really could have used Crowder against the Clippers. @fishonjazz liked his comment.

But for some reason Tucker and Craig wouldn’t have done **** for us.

Comedy at its finest.
