What's new

Gameface

Saint Cy posted something about a false positive and I said something like "that's what you said about your herpes test and we all know how that turned out."

Cy also posted something about load management and I said that he was the expert in managing dude's loads.

Shad posted a thread, while the Jazz were still in the playoffs, saying that he was rooting for the Suns and the Hawks and I said that I was rooting for him to get cancer.

So yeah. Whatever.
you deserved a time-out for the cancer one...

I disagree, but whatever. The mods/Jason decided I needed a time out. That's fine.

I don't really understand the line any better now than I did then as I look around the site and see behaviors that are apparently acceptable.

Having a week off did allow me to think about what I'm doing here. I didn't access the site at all during my ban. *see note in spoiler

I wonder if I'm making an overall positive contribution to the site. I feel like I do a lot of individually positive things here. I also recognize that I do a lot of negative things and at times contribute toxicity to the site. I don't know that it's okay as long as it all balances out.

I also thought about if I'm benefitting from being here. I left facebook more than a 6 months ago because I felt that it was an overall negative experience for me. I was losing respect for people that I had liked by seeing the nonsense they post. I was irritated by how easily lies and misinformation was accepted and spread. I was almost always regretful after I got involved in any political type discussions. So I left and I don't regret it.

I seriously considered just not logging back in after my ban was over. I'm still considering it. I don't know if I gain more than I lose being here. It's my issue if I allow things posted here by single topic posters who don't show any real interest in the Jazz to bother me. But I do. So if I'm not able to change that then maybe this just isn't the place for me. I don't want to be on jazzchan.com, honestly. People use this site to post garbage that grown up websites have long since learned how to eliminate. I know I don't have to give a **** and let it get to me, but I'm not better than that and I don't think that's going to change.

So whatever. I'm still thinking about what I want to do, but that's mostly just because I don't want the right answer to be right. I should probably stop posting here.

Yeah.

@Jason when a person gets banned they get an "oops, something went wrong" message and can't access their PM that gives them the details of their banishment. Maybe that's a software limitation. Regardless it would be nice if there was something a person could click after getting that message to log out (because the option to log out isn't available when you're banned) so that they can access the site. As it stands a banned user has to delete the cookies for the site in order to access it at all if they normally log-in automatically.

The Shad one was a bit harsh. The Cy ones are obviously true.

I agree. It was intended to accurately convey how ****ed I thought it was to write the Jazz off before they were eliminated. It was 100% intended to be somewhat offensive.

I wasn't sure it was ban worthy, but Shad made clear he reported it and expected me to get a ban, so getting a ban wasn't a huge surprise. I guess it was that comment along with the ones to Cy (Cy is a major cry baby and it was my post to him that was cited in my ban PM, so I 'm sure he reported the posts I mentioned) that tipped the scales.

I don't really question the mods decision when I've gotten banned and I don't try to relitigate the issue, but better clarification would be nice. I'm sure I could do what I consider worse and not get banned. I still don't really know where the line is. Not that I'm trying to ride the line on purpose, but it'd be nice to understand where it is.

Really I think the line is drawn and redrawn depending on what gets reported and if they think it's bad enough to punish at that time. They will police big things, like porn bombs, but otherwise it's entirely driven on what gets reported so it will always be somewhat of a moving target.

I’m typing his username in and it’s not popping up automatically as it usually does. Maybe it’s just because he’s banned or something.
Looks like he's just out for a week. Not sure.

I mean I don't like the guy, at all, but I don't have any desire for him to be banned for good or anything.

I did report him for posting a video about Michelle Obama being a man. Not sure if that was part of it or if it was him bringing all his political BS into a thread in the Jazz form and using political affiliation to attack several other posters, largely CY, and we all know CY gets his feelings hurt really easy and reports everything anyone says to him that isn't nice.

I report things in hopes of making the boards more readable.

I suppose that makes me less manly to make an effort to make something I do more pleasing to some people. Those people can pound sand as far as I'm concerned.

It's either report or leave the board. I currently choose the former.

Well done good sir. I think maybe I will follow your example

Shaping the world to your vision is about as manly as it gets.

Posters like Hax0rs don't bother me, but that's much more likely a fault in me rather than in you.

Why did he get a one week ban? What did he do?

Also, has he lost it to the point that when he returns he will post porn like crazy for an hour early on a Sunday morning again? Not that I condone such behavior. This site is holy and family friendly. But I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing Adriana Chechnik fisting herself if Gameface feels that that’s the type of shake-up the site needs.
Just for the record. When Jason let me back after that I made a solemn oath to him personally and then posted as much in an apology thread that I would NEVER do that again.

I meant it. Maybe I haven't been as good a jazzfanz.com citizen as I intended after that but I would never do that to Jason or this website again.

Obviously I live with the facts. I've semi-tried to explain what prompted me to post the first naughty images (a racist post by Beantown about all Asian women looking the same) and once I posted that I sort of just went for it, knowing I was done.

Unfortunately the message I was trying to send was lost in the drama. The first image(s) were basic non-porn type nudes of the same Asian woman over and over again. It was the type of image you can find in any standard art book about drawing the human figure. They were black and white.

Then there were 30-something ladies looking at a peepee cake that looked to be for a bachelorette party. Then there was an image of a well endowed black gentleman being admired by a bunch of white grandmas. Then there was an image straight out of B-grade 1980s porn showing a slightly past her prime, not in any kind of great shape, woman who did not practice any sort of hair removal regimen.

It was more or less intended as a statement against the racism posted by Beantown that went completely unpunished.

Yeah, even all the way back then I was a white knight snowflake that overreacts to what I consider injustice.

So there's that.

I was hoping another bevy of babes :(
"a bevy of babes" sounds like a bunch of grass with about 40 chukars doing their mating dances. Just to be clear, there's only one of me.

I vaguely recall, at the outset of the playoffs, Game did some stuff then checked himself, saying it wasn't a good time to get banned,. I didn't see anything to complain about, and did not complain about anything. He retracted some posts, apologizing.

Demonstrated a willingness to respect the rules and the mods.

Ah. Interesting. Sounds like the one scene is what I would call a reverse bukkake.
