Chad Ford chat re: Jazz

Good read. Chad brought up a good point. With all of these draft picks, they eventually will have an extension. Who stays and who goes for more money?

According to Sepanol Utah should consistently lose so we never have to pay a veteran. Just trade them for more picks.

This is why a hard cap sucks.

If you don't waste money overpaying players (i.e. no AKs, Harprings, Memos [wholly unnecessary extension]), staying under tax is not that difficult.

But everyone else has to deal with the same hard cap, so there are going to be very few bidders every year with cap space to outbid you. Prices will come down and it will be cheaper to keep players- which is exactly why the union hates the current offer.

“I think he lacks a lot of game-time basketball IQ"

...great, that's all we need. Another clown without any basketball brains!

This is all you understand from the article? Thats smart of you. I know my posts have a big effect in your life but you should keep relating these article to Jazz, not me.
Btw Chad says mostly what i was consistently telling, Kanter is talented, thats why it makes either Big Al or Memo expandable. And the rest is up to the way of thinking, some people may expand Memo but i would do Big Al since after a few years young guys get extension and we aren't gonna be able to afford the same players we have right now. (Memo may stay with mid level exception anymore but Big Al won't) I guess guys like you would prefer to see 2 superstars and 3 allstars in the team but that is pretty not realistic for our franchise

Imo it would be better to tank this season and get a good pick in this rich draft, but probably the whole season will be canceled so we won't need things like that anymore.

So, basically, you totally agree with my abbreviated version of your opinion.

So the fact that a player seems to have a lot of talent going into the NBA, despite being 2 years removed from solid playing experience, and not even playing a single minute in a game so far, has made a 20/10 fringe all-star center expendable?? Simply because of potential?!?!?

I am deciding that it is best that I refrain from arguing with you. Im not even gonna comment any further on the absurdity of your post, even though your last sentence is seriously asking for it.

I say we expand both of them. We could always use more size in the frontcourt.

Not only i say that, Chad Ford says that too, read the article before you try to find some arguments point with me.
Btw Boozer was a fringe all star too, so its ridiculous you think fringe all stars aren't expandable, he is Big Al, not Karl Malone. If he was that reliable, we wouldnt even have picked Kanter

I think Memo can be a good backup with mid level exception but Big Al for sure won't get paid less than 14-15 a year which is quite ridiculous

You have been maintaining this insinuation that AJ is a selfish player who would never accept less than 14 mil per year. It would be better for you to provide something besides your absurd bias to back that up.

What do you have to back up he isnt a selfish player at all?

He was getting paid so much basically because Minnesota didn't have any players at all when they made contract with him, and they overvalued him. Right now, he doesn't really give me any feeling that he is a modest type of player who would be ok to make another contract with jazz for 30 million for 3 years, which is the most he deserves. I have seen how frustrated he was when he got benched just one game behind Favors in last quarter , so that doesn't really make me feel like he will consider he is really being overvalued right now and agree with a less favorable salary.
