Might. JC just has a nuclear hot gear that I don't think many guys can get to. I definitely have seen the bottom of the JC roller coaster a few times and thought "maybe we should get off at some point".
You could. He’d have to have a team locked in obviously already. I probably wouldn’t go that route. I’d want the contract so I can eithe go get a different player with it or if we use it in an uneven trade where we are trading him into someone’s space we would open up a decent sized trade exception. Most of them go unused but if you got to the trade deadline and things were looking great it might be the item that lands you a PJ Tucker type player and make the dollars work.
This is the route I would take but the bigger issue is really a coaching issue. Keeping his contract means you're keeping him as the only guy getting minutes who isn't Gobert.
Right. I meant using the deal in the offseason... even if we traded him for say Jones Jr. straight up... even if Jones Jr. doesn't work for us the salary helps you match another different trade if need be.
