Jazz Offseason Plan

Clearly you don't understand how this works. We have no control over who calls us. Our phone doesn't have a keypad. Just a receiver.

Actually the way it worked is we had multiple GMs... so in order to maximize efficiency JZ had outbound duties but DL had the inbound duties. Problem was when the calls were coming in DL was at a Baylor alumni events. Go Bears!

So word is JZ has outbound, Wade takes inbound calls, Ryan covers twitter DMs, and Ainge works shady back channels with burner phones. There is an opening to cover the Fax machine that was Friedman's area of responsibility.

I agree. I have been a fan for a long, long time. He can do a little bit of everything.
Mostly he creates offensive rebounding opportunities and development opportunities for other players...

The guy is never healthy and was so bad when he was. As a minimum guy sure... but I think we need calm down on the assessment. He's had one solid year that may have been a shooting fluke. He's one injury plagued year away from being Dante Exum. It wasn't just his shooting that was bad this year... it was like he forgot how to play basketball as well.

To really buy Winslow he needed to grow off his age 22 season... he has been mostly hurt but has regressed so hard when he was healthy that I'd be shocked if he delivered on even 50% or his potential.

I agree. Definitely some concerns. But he's still young and I see him as a buy low candidate. He was really good for Miami for a few years. Even played PG.

In my opinion, he's worth a shot depending on the price.

I'm one of the biggest Royce fans out there, but when he started with us at over 24 years of age, he was very, very rough. He got better defensively and much better offensively.

Frank is already a comparable on ball defender, but his offense needs work just like Royce's did. The good thing? - Frank is almost two years younger than Royce was when we started his development.
Royce can really rebound. Frankie can’t. Frankie can’t do much of anything on offense.

My thing with Frank is... does he know he's gotta be like Royce to be functional as a winning NBA player.

I'm not saying Frank is Royce. I'm talking about offense. Royce was awful when we brought him in, but he got better over time. He became more comfortable. Frank is a better defender right now at 22 than Royce was at 24 when we started grooming his offense.

We need projects. At minimum or near minimum contract knowing he's a buddy of both Rudy's and Don's, Frank is clearly worth a shot.

Frank never came off to me as that kind of guy. He’s always been a very low volume player and one without much confidence. I get more Exum vibes from him. Like Exum, I don’t think Frank is unwilling to play a smaller role. They are just bad with high expectations from their draft position.

And playing in New York hasn't helped.

Frank just needs a chance to be comfortable. For France, he's good. Maybe out of the NY spotlight and expectations, he can excel with the support of Rudy and Don.

Winslow basically hasn't played in two years so I understand the concerns, but I have a soft spot for him and Stanley. It amazes me that neither guy could develop a shot because both seem to be very hard working, high character guys.

I think it's tough to not play and jump right in so I don't hold Winslow's MEM performance against him too much. I also don't think he was as terrible as you are saying when he was. His shooting, yeah I don't believe in it too much but his defense was awesome and he was a great hustle guy and decent ball handler. I always thought he was a smart basketball player too. "Elite" defender is more of a buzzword these days but I thought he was legitimately at that level. He may not be the next Igoudala like I thought, but if he can back to where he was I think he's an instant contributor.

For someone who claimed that Shaq Harrison was only below average in shooting I thought you would be receptive to Justise :p
