GET PATRICK BEVERLY

I know everyone said Bev was washed up but he really helped them against us. He's still a great defender and a good floor spacer. Plus if we had Ingles and Bev we are basically guaranteed someone on the other team wants to fight us every night.

I kid... I don't think JC for Bev is a homerun but he's the type of player we lack and is a nice complement to Don and Mike. The way he ended his season with the shove on CP was some clown show ****. If you talk mad smack when you get your *** kicked you don't get to be a punk.

I just have no idea what the plan is from the Memphis side. The deal creates a slight roster crunch... guessing they release Otoru... seem open to moving the other guys but maybe they want to keep Bev... he fits the grit and grind model... ****... just thought about how annoying him and Brooks could be.

This is a strange one on both sides imo. I think the hate had gone too far on Bledsoe... he might be a better fit with the non-Kawhi clips since they will need more on ball creation. Rondo likely gets bought out and heads to the Lakers is my guess.

I wouldn't want to do Joe for Pat for a lot of reasons. JC for Pat likely wouldn't work for Grizz as it sounds like they did the Bled deal to offload his 3.9M next year... which is weird because they have a lot of space already... not sure that changes their world one way or another. I think it'd have to be a three way deal where we send JC to a third team that gives stuff and expirings to us and Grizz.

Part of the reason I'd consider it is to clean up the cap sheet a bit... I most likely wouldn't do it straight up... I'd want some draft capital from somewhere. I think it almost certainly makes us worse in the regular season but if you told me Mike, Donovan, and Joe are all 100% healthy coming into the playoffs and you can choose between Pat Bev and JC it'd be a tough choice. I'm assuming Rudy Gay can take up some of the slack during the season and playoffs.

Grizz are just in asset acquisition mode. They’re reloading the chamber again and getting contracts in-line for a push on Morant’s timeline. They’ll be flipping Adams, Bev, etc for something ASAP.

I think Adams stays. I think he is their starting center this year... maybe next year or during the season. Rondo, Bev are interesting because both are expiring and basically so was Bledsoe. So they must thing they are better/more tradeable. They dumped allen to kinda clear playing time for Melton/Bane etc. so I'm not sure they go into the season with Bev/Rondo. They likely get flipped... i'd have thought Clips might flip them and do better.

I like some of what Memphis did this offseason... this may have just been dumping a guy that might be a malcontent when they had an opportunity. Bev will play for whoever so they may have preferred that attitude. Maybe they use their space next year... would love to know what the plan is there or if they are kinda just churning stuff.

I think even a reasonable offer for Adams would be accepted. But who knows. The market probably isn’t too hot. But maybe someone eventually gives a late-first for him as an injury replacement. Memphis would accept that offer pronto, imo.

For sure... I don't think an offer for an expiring is even out there right now. I think he's in their plans unless they get an offer to get off his money or get a 1st. I think he has negative value unless he comes in and shows he's healthy and playing back at his pre-NO levels. Centers are hard to move.

The Griz, Wiz, Spurs, Nets and Hawks all appear to have a surplus of players they may want to make a deal on.

So Grizz will need to waive/release 3 guys at some point. Maybe they move 1 or 2... but Sam Merrill is almost a guaranteed waive given their roster situation. Wonder if we could snag him with the other two way. I think he becomes a backend of the rotation type guy at some point but he might end up overseas because I think he'd do really well there.

"He has championship experience."

I would't part ways with JC, Bogey or Joe to get Beverly.
It certainly won't put the Jazz closer to the title series.
Let this first post DL offseason evolve on itself a little bit.
Moves can be tried later.

I guess I get the flyer Memphis is taking on Culver but they are making their roster crunch worse. Someone on a pod indicated the reason to do the Bledsoe deal was to get Oturu which seemed weird... I mean he's fine I guess... and to get rid of the small guarantee for next year... this deal runs counter to that. Rondo definitely will get bought out. Maybe they release Merrill and Konchar now... still think they need to get off one more guarantee by camp. They need to do a 2 for 1 deal somewhere.

Yes, they are creating a crunch, but I like the flyer on Culver. Juancho can be a serviceable backup.

If they can clear their roster crucnch and pick up a bevy of second-round picks, that’d be dope for them.
I like Hernangomez... the flyer on Culver is not my fav. To show he's worth it he has to play... they have Brooks, Bane, Anderson, Melton at the 2/3 plus added Williams as a 3/4. I just don't see him getting anything other than spot minutes and they will need to make a decision on his option for next year... which is $8M. They are still likely to have cap space but this just seems like doing a deal to do a deal. IDK maybe they already have a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 lined up.

If not I think they cut Rondo, Merrill, Konchar, Pons. I like some of the stuff they do in a vacuum but its wonky when they put it all together.

Konchar is actually pretty intriguing and on a good long low contract. I'd use the trade exception on him or flip Hughes for him with a second if they want to waive Hughes instead.
