The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

Oh it's so nice to listen to an articulate non dementia president in Trump. Lol he was just talking about the story when you guys spent days crying like children about him almost falling on the ramp. The way he put it and what actually happened was pretty funny. Leather soled shoes on a wet ramp. I'm guessing y'all wouldn't know what that's like but it's scary.

Meanwhile Bidens own Generals are contradicting him. The ramp was waaay more important I guess. You guys wanted to impeach him over that if I remember correctly. But when kids getting raped by Bidens failed policy you guys post tweets about some idiotic Republican that we all know has no chance.

She is the worst. I would rather have trump president again. Im serious
How about neither? Let’s continue to elect capable and decent human beings as leaders. We don’t have to elect disgusting pigs like Trump and MTG.

Genuine question… now that we are 8 months into Biden’s presidency, what did Trump do policy wise that people hated so much?

While we are at it lets put an age limit on presidential candidates.
How does it make sense that we as a society/country basically put everyone over 65 out to pasture or to toil as wal mart greeters yet we are cool with dudes way over retirement age holding the most important job in the entire country. Thats just plain stupid.
Look, my dad is an amazing man. Fought in vietnam, college educated, extremely intelligent and worked in a very difficult field his entire life and thrived.
He is currently 78 years old (just had a birthday in august) and no signs of senility or alzheimers. He is in great shape for a man his age (still lifts weighs daily and walks 5 miles daily). So physically and mentally he is at the top of his game for his age. But he is 78 years old. No way in hell should he be president. His hearing is shot, he forgets why he walked into a room, he is out of touch with the younger generation, he takes great pleasure in having a good (and rare) bowel movement.

Lets stop electing dinosaurs. Lets all come together on this one thing. Republican or democrat. At the next primaries of each respective parties presidential candidates lets try to vote for someone under 65 and have a couple of people at least close to their best (their prime if you will) running for the highest office in the country.

I never hated him for his policies. In fact trump and I were on the same page on a few things. Though I did hate many of his policies that was never my problem with him. Im always going to hate many of the presidents policies no matter who is president and I will like a few of them as well. I dont vote for the president based on his policies.
Cant have a president who behaves in his manner though. Too much of a douchebag. Too volatile. Too corrupt. Too scandalous. Too many tweets. Too petty (has to bring up every criticism so he can play the victim. If someone says he has small hands, you best believe he will speak of that slight at his next rally) All up in my day to day business too much. Too many press conferences. Too divisive (intentionally). Wanted us all to hate each other. Loved to talk about "the left" or "the other side" as if they were his enemies. So many relationships across the country were destroyed by the president. Too many rallies. Too many worshippers buying his brand. Too concerned about his brand. Coined phrases such as "fake news" (made the press into evil diabolical enemies). "alternative facts". He hated truth and loved lies. Lied more than any president in history. Golfed more than any president in a single term in history. Had way too much historical baggage (trump university, cheating on 3 different wives while they were pregnant, grab em by the *****, beauty pagent scandals, sleeping with porn stars). He was unqualified. He hated people who kneeled for the anthem in protest yet acted a fool and way more disrespectful during the anthem for the superbowl. He verbally trashed our military troops. (I like people who werent captured) He did a photo opp with an upside down bible during a time of great civil unrest. He fired people on whims for simply disagreeing with him. He allowed no dissenting voices to be in his presence. Was a vocal proponent of the the claim that obama wasn't born here. He was a reality tv star ffs.
Thats just off the top of my head. If i were to use google I could go on for days. There is a youtube video comparison a speech by obama after they took out osama bin laden that is splice with a speech by trump after they took out some terrorist dude (maybe that al bagdadhi guy or whatever). Its shocking the difference between the two. One of the speeches has some class, respect, intelligence, etc. The other sounds like how a ten year old would talk after he beat up the weakest kid on his block. He never had an approval rating over 50% for a reason.
Policy isn't the only thing that matters. We have a large government that is supposed to function as a unit to forge policy. The presidents main job imo is to look the part and act the part. To be a mouthpiece for the country. A representitave of the county. On those things he was a massive failure. Extremely embarrassing. Worst president of my lifetime without a doubt. Even though he has all the best words and knows more about everything than anyone ever.

Hell I will settle for capable and qualified. I dont think a decent candidate is very likely. Gotta do some dirty stuff to get to the top (take bribes, lie, step on and over others to claw your way up)
Give me a candidate thats simply capable, qualified, intelligent, classy, well spoken, and not embarrassing. Doesn't seem like too much too ask. Oh and not a living fossil would be nice too.

Moderna had the exact coronavirus vaccine we are using today synthesized, through animal testing, and shipped out for human testing on February 24, 2020. That is before schools closed, before states closed, before more than a bare handful of people were even sick. We had the vaccine.

I blame Trump for not using the Defense Production Act to crank this stuff out and making it widely available to anyone and everyone who wanted to participate on an experimental or compassionate use basis. I know for a fact there are people out there who would have taken this experimental vaccine, waited 6 weeks, and allowed researchers to purposefully expose them to SARS-CoV-2.

If we’d known by April of 2020 how solid the Moderna vaccine was with production ramped up, the world would be a different place today. Trump had the power to do that and he didn’t. I blame him for the consequences of his inaction.

excellent post.

I hope you’re not implying Biden is capable and decent.
Of course he is. He’s managing to thread the needle of keeping a big diverse coalition together. His policies over the past 7 months have benefitted the majority of America. I’m hopeful in the upcoming months we can deal with voting rights and immigration reform. I would’ve preferred that over infrastructure first. But if it gets done then that’s all that matters to me.

It would help if young people actually participated in the democratic process. Boomers as a percentage have typically tripled that of younger voters. College, foot game, and tee vee are more important. I’m in my mid 30s and I’m a child at many of these caucus meetings.

Fair enough. So let's make it a requirement that a candidate is under 65.
