Trade deadline discussion

There was some real bad blood between Korver and the front office and coaching staff his last time through here. He was available but he had had it with the Jazz. No way was he coming here.

Can you elaborate on this a little? What was the cause of the bad blood?

2009-10 season he set the record for 3PT% in a season at 53.6%. This record still stands to this day.

Anyways, last game of the season that year we were 53-28 and the Suns were 53-28. Win and we win the division and get the 3 seed. Lose and we lose the division and get the 5 seed. Which for obvious reasons was extremely important and the biggest game of the year.

Korver passed up multiple good looks that game and the game before from 3 to keep his percentage high to secure the record. The final two games that season he played over 41 minutes and took 1 total three.

We end up losing the game to Phoenix and get the 5 seed and end up losing to the Lakers in the second round.

What did we even get for Korver? I liked him on the team the second time.

That was his first stint here. Something else happened either during or after his second stint.

If Joe gets traded can he just retire right then? I'm not sure how that works. I just don't see him moving his family to another state for just a couple of months.
From what I can tell and could find, he could retire and not report; he would then forfeit his contract and not be able to play for another team for one year. I have to imagine the
team he'd be going to would get a commitment to play (or to retire if it's a salary dump) from him before finalizing the trade.

Player does not have to move family
Joes family can just stay in Utah till he decides what to do

He was included in the Conley trade for salary match purposes. I had the feeling he felt lied to by the Jazz and I don't know if that was DL, Quin, the Miller family or all of the above or some of the above.

I know all that but I'm wondering what happened between him and the front office in his second stint with the Jazz to cause bad blood.

He would have to leave Renae with two young kids including one with autism? Not sure that's where Joe wants to go. (I'm sure they have help, but still...)
