Stupid Pet Peeves

My experience has been the opposite. Those who use the jargon extensively are usually covering up for something lacking elsewhere by using the buzzwords. Had a coworker get stuck on things like "synergies" and such, and was pretty quickly canned because he was straight up incompetent. He said "bleeding edge" one time too many and was cut.

Drives me ****ing nuts, touching base, key stakeholders, I catch myself using these sometimes. Hate it...

So a completely normal couple then.

When did "may" replace "will" in a request.

"May you please have the customer validate the invoice?"

Hate that.

Native U.S. English speaker?
Yes. I hear it from our native Spanish speakers and that I get. But I'm starting to hear it more from native English speakers as well.

Neither Popeyes or KFC will sell you chicken tenders without a combo or "meal." I don't really ever eat fries and I never drink soda, so I don't want a meal, I just want 3-5 chicken tenders.

I think that's location specific. The Popeyes we go to sells them alone.

Raising Cane's just opened up here this past week in Ogden. Same deal. Only combos.

At least they have unsweetened ice tea. Still would rather just have the chicken and fries, but it is what it is.

Yeah that is all they do. Is it the one in Riverdale? We drove by that while we were there for Christmas.
