Trade deadline discussion

they would give you hart if that's the offer. jones is on a real cheap contract and they own his bird. won't need to pay him until 2024. as of now he just gives them so much more than his actual trade value...... there's simply no team that would be willing to give up their young stars while they were still on their rookie scale contract unless it's for one of the all-star/all-nba guys.
Let's not overreact. He's not a star. He's a valuable player, but not a franchise guy. He's a valuable cog for a good team. NOLA is not a good team.

Does he even fit on the floor with Zion and Val? Herb really isn't a floor spacer. NOLA might see a good opportunity to get another future asset and shed a contract they really don't want (Temple for example).

We just gonna let teams score 150 pts a night on us?
We would have to change our identity. If Rudy went, we would build around Don which means we would probably put a bunch of perimeter defenders around him. Probably have a couple guys like Whiteside in addition to a true stretch 5.

I really don't want to consider this yet. There are trades out there that can help this team without having to blow it up like this.

well he's definitely their franchise guy. have you watched any pels game recently? the kids been seeing his minutes in the high 30s, leading his teams in minutes played on several occasions. he isn't exactly a floor spacer but he's a willing shooter who currently knocks down his threes at 34%. he's basically Jonathan Isaac and would you consider a healthy Isaac the franchise guy for Orlando?

again like I said, no team has ever traded away their young stars while they were still on their rookie contract unless you offer them one of the all-stars or all-nba players. a pick or two and one of our garbage min guys simply won't be enough to get it done. just find me the one occasion where this has ever happened.

Jalen Smith. The backup big for Phoenix that doesn't get much playtime, but has shown TREMENDOUS upside is my pipedream. Can play the 5 or the 4, as well. He showed his abilities a few games ago, but is getting minimal playtime tonight, in a blowout.

Royce plays 35+ minutes per night but that doesn't make him untradeable.

That NOLA team is built around Ingram, Zion and Val. When Zion comes back, they aren't sitting Ingram or Zion to play Herb. Maybe they play Herb at the 2, but I guarantee his minutes suffer when Zion comes back.

He is attainable. Do we want to win a title or not? Hell, trade Clarkson if we have to. This Herb kid could be exactly what we need to get over the hump.

Herb only takes 1.5 3's per game. He's not a true floor spacer.

Omer Yurtseven is making me sad. Currently tearing the Suns apart in Phoenix. 4 points, 11 boards, 7 assists with 0 turnover, basically on a triple double alert half way through 3 quarters. Also a +12, fourth highest amongst all players on the floor.

And we took DOKE over him.

It's like the 2007 when we took Fesenko over Marc Gasol happening all over again.

I would be alright with sending Detroit expiring and picks for grant. Grant played really well against us in the round against Denver and I would love to have that on our team. Joe and Gay plus picks works for salary. Also not sure if smart and clarkson are considered comparable overall but if smart can bring as much to the team as JC does but with more defense I’d be all for a swap there of sorts.

That's why I said it's a pipedream. I'm sure they will slide him beside Ayton once Crowder burns out. He could and probably should be starting over Crowder right now, though.
Yurtseven is arguably the best center on the floor tonight. and he's probably gonna go back to DNPs when Bam comes back. Heat will have a tough decision to make in the summer.

There are reports that they won't pick up his option to save money. He has been disappointment for them mostly after they reached for him.

I like Yurtsevens game too.

That would be a shocker. Wow. He's shown out in the recent games he's got PT.
