Trade deadline discussion

2024 for OKC… it would make the 2026 pick easier to trade because it would have less restrictions… we are getting in dangerous territory at that point. But hell by 2026 the robot overlords will have taken over and kept only the humans they like as pets… so basketball won’t matter. Make the 2026 top 4 protected if you get something amazing.

So get Kenrich Williams for removing protections… then send a very unprotected pick for… what? I’d probably see if you could pick up Melton with it and JC (maybe Cleveland will do a straight Ricky for JC three team deal)? Melton has been a little lost in the shuffle in Memphis and is likely not getting more PT when Brooks gets back.
Use those picks to get my man Marcus Morris.

You do this... and I agree with you he's a guy we should try and get... and we need an *******... been needing one for a while. This will just never happen... so I don't want to entertain it. I know its all fantasy... so why I can't get over it I don't know.

I like Deandre Hunter but perhaps we can make a different deal. I like Bogey and people are being harsh on him. He is a guy who can make shots when every thing breaks down.
Hunter is not as good of a scorer but a more versatile piece. He can be a solid defender for us and also stretch the floor with his 40% 3pt shooting. Delon Wright can help with our backcourt depth and push Forrest out of the rotation completely. Also Wright is an expiring so I'm sure FO would love to have that for money savings.
I think it's an easy deal for the Jazz and it would be on Atlanta to accept it.

OKC is on the verge of really screwing up the tank this season. They need a top 3 pick and have already basically guaranteed they won't be bottom 3... could easily move to 6/7 with Inidana, Portland, and others joining the tankathon. They can't keep up their tank beyond this season imo. I think they'd be interested in dropping a few of their more functional pieces... Williams being one of them. They also may want to help facilitate trades for the Clips if it means those guys will win less games since they own their pick unprotected. So they may take a little less on a trade if they are needed to facilitate the trade I mentioned of Ibaka and Batum.

Presti may have to convince SGA and Dort to sit more down the stretch and I don't think the league turns a blind eye to their blatant tank jobs for another season.

I believe the question would really boil down to whether or not LA is open to moving him. If they are open to moving him, then you have to ask for what. He’s a win-now piece, and you’re probably not going to get back a win-now piece or if you are you’re just kinda shuffling the deck. So if he’s moved then you could be trying to cash him in for assets that you could then use to get more win-now pieces over next off-season or something. Getting a JC plus pick(s) gives you both win-now piece and an asset to use in deals (aren’t they still asset depleted from the PG trade?). Or if they need financial relief then Ingles and a pick… Ingles being traded back to LA would be an interesting and somewhat ironic (in the Alanis Morrissette kinda way) end to his career.

Atlanta can certainly do better if they wanna trade Hunter but they are definitely making him available for a trade
Yeah... if they can get Ben Simmons. Outside of that I doubt they are really pushing to trade him. He's very likely 1 or 2 on their list of Non-Trae guys they want to keep.

true. Simmons is a terrible fit for Atlanta though imo. they would want him to play the Draymond role but that's just not who he is.

One interesting alternative to Hunter would be PJ Washington who's also shooting 40% from deep this year. But his contract is too small to fit into a Bogey or even JC trade

Tony Jones said the Jazz are going to let House's 10 day expire but they really like him. It makes you wonder if something is up the FO's sleeve. Did Hughes showing make them think that someone is expendable for draft picks?

i hope they do, there's no reason not to keep him otherwise. He's done well.

They like him, but not as much as they like keeping that roster spot open until they’re absolutely required to fill it with another 10 day.

It’s kind of like saying you like a girl but you’re not going to pick her up for the date. But you like her.

With regard to House… they might wait until tomorrow and get one extra day on the deal… they should just sign it and have him at practice. He’s as good as it will get for the empty roster spot but by all means duck around and wait for another team to swoop in.

I don’t think you fully understand how important those four days of an open roster spot are.

Someone in local media… probably…

“Lolz… y’all think the Jazz are doing this to save money?!?!? They are all in!!!!! This gives them maximum roster flexibility… what if they want to do a 1 for 3 trade??? What if Lebron gets waived???? This ain’t about a few dollars lolz!”

Put aside our offence and defence … the worst thing this team has is a soft underbelly..

As soon as someone puts the pressure on we fold , spectacularly …

No fight , no anger , no getting up in someone’s face …

Is there a Jazz player in the top 100 in steals ? I mean there probably is , but where is the steal- runaway dunk …

The play I hate the most is a 4-2 or 3-1 fast break and they have an easy draw , pass , dunk , instead kick it out for a 3 which ultimately misses …. Oh man, Jerry is yelling somewhere when he sees that crap

I certainly like the idea of Marcus Morris on our team, but struggle to think of a trade that makes sense for the Clippers. They are in a really funky situation. They're currently in the 8th seed, which is pretty impressive considering they are down their two best players. However, if Paul George ends up getting surgery and missing the rest of the season it is hard to see them getting much more competitive. Based on past indicators I have a hard time seeing Leonard rushing back this year. However, their first round pick is owed to OKC and is unprotected, so they have no incentive to tank.

They are currently looking at a near 100 million dollar tax bill for this season if they don't shed any salary, which is an awful lot for a team that is unlikely to be highly competitive (though their owner can certainly afford it). They could try to shed salary by trading Ibaka's expiring contract or Bledsoe (who only has 3.9 guaranteed for next year) but given their lack of draft picks it isn't clear what they would trade to incentivize OKC or any other team with cap space to take on those contracts. They also do not want to gut their team because they want to remain competitive for next year, so expiring contracts don't do them much good because it doesn't help their tax bill this year and doesn't necessarily net them a player that can help them compete next year.

You do realize Ingles basically got teched out of a game for getting in a players face. Freaking drama queen!!!!
