Trade deadline discussion

He was -19 tonight and was still in the closing lineup and played almost the entire 4th quarter. Thanks Quin.
Like… this is insanity. Can you blame players for not trusting Quin? Imagine if you’re Gay and he yells at you for something? Why would you listen to Quin when game after game after game you watch Westbrick, JR Melo Clarkson just kill your team?

I predict the Jazz do nothing like always. Forrest will get converted to a regular contract, House will be signed for the rest of the year and maybe a couple of Stars grab the two ways.
Could still make a difference if Quin isn't so committed to play Royce/Bogey/JC/Jingles over 100min every night

This whole formula is stagnant and lacks promise. Just reboot a lot around Don and Rudy.

Sign House to a 2 year deal.

Rudy Gay to Dallas for 2nd rounders (they have an exception big enough for him)

Clarkson for Satoransky and 2nd rounders

Boston gets Conley and 2nds

Atlanta gets Bojan, a first from Boston, 2nds from Utah

Jazz get Collins and Smart

Never question the system. The system is good. The system is sound. The system is life. NEVER QUESTION THE MOTHER****ING SYSTEM!!

The last one to question the system was Butler. Look how that's working out for him.

Quin was teaching him, Hughes and Dok a lesson tonight.

Hard to tell what Jazz should do anymore
Hard to tell how good Jazz are right now
Jazz have not been at full strength for what maybe 20 games now

I ain't trading Gay unless he requests it. He brings so many good attributes on and off the floor. I think players respect him, he plays a mistake-free style of basketball, he grew with the analytics movement, works hard off the court and has good habits. Also a cheap contract.

The rest? If it works, yeah, do it. Satoransky if he can come back to life is actually a good 3rd guard in a rotation of Mitchell and Smart (which I wouldn't necessarily expect this year as much as maybe a tryout for next year or something).

Who knows if it works out but Gay was brought in for the playoffs in mind, not the regular season.

We can do this entire plan and keep Gay. We would be a little thinner on 2nds, but I'm not worried either way.

Jazz need to add a starting-caliber, two-way big wing via trade if they can. Ingles, Clarkson, O'Neale and multiple picks can all be moved. Jazz have plenty of depth.

Whose picks? Cuz the Jazz have very few they can actually deal within reason. Also, what is the utility of a weirdly-protected 2026 1st for a team trying to win now?

Jazz can probably find a deal to get a good player, but it's either because they get lucky with a Kenrich Williams type that pops, or they have to deal one of their starters.

I think the Jazz should try to get something for nothing like everyone would, but that's not very realistic. Especially if we're talking about a two-way big wing, AKA the thing every team wants more of.

Jazz may need to trade a player for draft capital in a separate deal in order put together a trade for said big wing.
