Joe Ingles Appreciation Thread (Edit: Confirmed ACL, Out for Season)

This is awful, and it's a shame this is the way his NBA career might end.

Still, what a hell of a career. He started off as a guy who was lucky (probably not the best word...maybe long shot) to make the league, and really built himself a great career. And to top it all off, he had one of the great unique personalities of the league.

Listing their Aussie house could be a lot of things. Could just be capitalizing on a hot real estate market, could be wanting to downsize when they move back knowing Joe won’t have an NBA salary to pay the property taxes and upkeep, could be them wanting to buy something bigger in Australia because they’ll no longer be needing to pay for a second home in Utah.

Or any number of things.
Right... why I said you never know what to make of it. It also could be he wants to play with Australian team or have some ownership in a team and it isn't in Melbourne.

Anytime the guy has been asked if he would coach or do TV or whatever in Utah after his career was over he shoots it down and says he's headed back to Australia as soon as he is done. I think he hangs around the team for moral support the rest of the year and then bounces after the season. I think that was always the plan and the injury just brought finality to it.

Wish Joe the best in whatever he chooses.

Joe Ingles is one of the great stories of the NBA, and it's been fun to be a Jazz fan and witness it all. I hope he has a speedy recovery, and assuming this is the end of his career, I hope he has an amazing life with his family.

Reading the comments makes me want to puke. So many people saying it's justified because Joe hurt Kawhi. What a toxic world we live in.
Yeah, I caught wind of this clown **** last night. I have no idea how they think this besides that they are irredeemably stupid people because:
1 - there was no contact on the play
2 - ACL tears are overwhelmingly non-contact

While terrible, things very well could have have been worse structurally. He'll be fine though I'm not sure he'll ever play again.

They seriously need to retire his jersey. I don't give a **** that he wasn't a star. The impact he's had on this franchise both on and off the floor has been massive.
Depends on if the franchise views it the same way the fanbase does. I hope they do. Joe deserves his jersey to be retired. And a trophy.

I think it for sure happens... he can have the spot we reserved for Gordon Hayward all those years ago.

It's official JIngles has a torn ACL. Also the Jazz don't get to use the disabled player exception because the injury happened too late in the season. Good news everywhere.

Joe is the heart and soul of this team. We need to dig deep after this one. This is one of the most devastating injuries we have seen as jazz fans honestly.

This sums it up well.
