Jefferson - OK he's not the perfect C, but he's said himself that he's a C and he's "OK" playing a C.
Kanter - He's a bit short for a C and doesn't quite have the athleticism, but he has played C before and who knows how he'll develop?
Favors - He's got the defense ability and athleticism to play C - may be he's an inch too short? I see a lot of potential though.
Okur - Played C most of his time in the NBA. Has the height but not the defense or post play to play C.
I'm not happy with all the "PFs" in the team neither, but if you think some GM will happily take on Jefferson and give us a quality C I think you must be dreaming. And if you're thinking about trading Jefferson for a back up C - then which of the "PFs" would you want starting at C?
Llooking at who we've got I think Favors has the most potential going forward. He has the ability, athleticism and reach to play C. So why don't we be patient for a while this season and see how they develop?
Good post and all true. The only problem is with the condensed schedule, between the 4 of them, realistically, I think you're looking at 25-30 missed games this season.
Jefferson played all 82 last season; but I doubt we'll be this lucky again this season. Will probably missed a half dozen games with various minor injuries
Memo is coming off almost an entire year lost and is 30+. He's bound to miss some time.
Kanter has barely played any competitive ball over the last couple of years and might be in line for some extended D-League time if he struggles early or even if he doesn't.
I think Favors will play the most games out of all of them; but not necessarily the most minutes.
I'd love for them to pick up a low cost vet like Pryzbilla or Jeff Foster as Favors and Kanter develop their game; but I wouldn't hold my breath on either one of them. The reality is they'll probably pick up another Elson-like guy off the scrap heap. Definitely need another body though.
