Can We Just Flipping Sign House Please!

They should. He is better than a minimum player.
I'm just not sure why we keep ignoring the fact that he likely misses at least 50 games next year. 30 games is close to the best case scenario... how good will he be at his age in those 30 games? He might be worth more than the minimum if he can help a team in the playoffs but its likely those first 25 games are not going to be peak Ingles.

I love the guy... he's tough... I'm not rooting against him at all... but its science.

I'm not sure that's true at least next year. I'm guessing the team who signs him next year would be more for his locker room presence.
In the case of Portland, if Joe signs a one-year minimum then they retain his Bird Rights. I wonder if that’s what they’re referencing when they talk about Bird Rights, cuz signing him to above the MLE next year is pure non-sense.

It's just weird for a team to pull a trade that might help them 2 years down the road.

I'm curious what Joe actually thinks of the organization right now. He said he was ok being traded if it meant brining in a player that could help with our playoff push. It's clear now that's not what we did.

Which has been my point since he was traded.

Joe’s been repping the Blazers pretty hard. If I was him I’d be pissed at the Jazz, and I know that because I wasn’t the one traded and am pissed.

People should be preparing themselves for next Wednesday, when the Blazers come to town. If Joe is back from Chicago, which I'd presume he is, then he'll likely be on the bench for the Blazers.

Ingles coming back is pretty likely. How he plays when he returns is up to what condition he comes back in. If he works hard and gets in great shape like he did a few years ago for us he will be solid again and worth more than the min. If he comes in rehabbed but poor shape he is worth having for the min as a cheerleader and locker room guy. I think he will be motivated this off-season though with the break he has had.
I hope you are correct but the tidbits I hear makes me wonder if that is the case. I wont be surprised if he is done with the Jazz which is disappointing.

Of course prepping enough people to start a "Ryan sucks" chant when they show him on the jumbotron would be pretty good.

The Jazz are so limited with assets, that the NAW deal was probably a swing for the fences not necessarily for the ‘22 home stretch, but beyond.

They most likely make this move so they can tell Donovan “Look, we had a high draft rating on this guy and we think he’s been mis-cast on a bad team thus far. Give us an offseason to immerse him in our system and next season he’s a strong 3 and D guy playing heavy rotation minutes”.

I could be wrong, but it’s literally the only way I can make sense of why they did this deal. They better hope it works out that way because if not, Ryan and Ainge are gonna look like giant **** heads. Not just to the fans either. The players aren’t going to take kindly to dumping the backbone of their locker room for a dude who can’t play.

You can’t think of any other reasons?
