Game Thread Mar 12, 2022 08:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Kings

Added to Calendar: 03-12-22

Imagine if we could get post all star break Donovan, with pre all star break Mike, with post splint Bogey, and whatever this version of Clarkson is all playing that well at the same time. We'd score 200 points a game.
 
Honestly if we get last seasons clarkson and conley back then im right back to thinking we are championship contenders. I mean we made some moves around the bench but we are mostly the same team as last year. Mitchell is about the same player from last year (i think he is a little better this year), Gobert is having the best year of his career, Bogey is having the best year of his career, royce is royce.
If conley and clarkson get back to last years levels then I think we are a better team than last year. Ingles was quite good last year too though so that is a decent loss from last season but whiteside is much better than favors and I think players like Gay, paschall, and house should be more valuable in the playoffs than niang.

If Mitchell makes good decisions in the clutch then I think the sky is the limit for this team.

Unfortunately im not gonna hold my breath. He thinks that crunch time is spida time. Usually spida taking a tough contested shot time.

I'm not sure anyone could ever be more correct than this. It's a damn shame too, because he draws so much attention that one well placed pass and you have a wide open shot.

Jazz are going to need Rudy Gay. Just his size trapping and doubling on defense in the paint makes a difference. If he can hit his mid-range jumpers, that's a nice counter to have as well.
 
One minor annoyance… I swear Quin can’t figure small ball out to save his damn life. If there is one player that should be in the court when we go small it should be Rudy Gay. Paschall, Bogey, Royce ain’t gonna work. Flip one of Eric or Bogey for Gay or it really doesn’t have a prayer of having enough rebounders.

I agree that he is important to our playoff chances. But man I haven't like his season so far.
I also find it strange that every player on our team takes 3 point shots and paint shots almost exclusively. Except rudy gay. He likes the long 2.

I was thinking the same thing.
We just suck at small ball. Dont think that is going to change. Agree about Rudy Gay though. Hell, thats what i thought we got him for.

Seems like he had a couple of decent games prior to tonight too. Haven't looked it up but it seems like he has been pretty efficient for a small stretch now. Maybe he is actually turning a corner. That would be huge.
 
Man no one on this team other than Gobert attempts to play defense consistently. Glad Clarkson erupted. Otherwise, this would’ve been another loss

Small ball is going to be the death of us in the playoffs once again.
