“Donovan Mitchell wouldn’t…………”
Pure speculation at best- Golden State no, Boston maybe is my best guess. Of course the same could be said for our other All Star as well - though I see his chances of starting being better for the Warriors.
The fact that Mitchell is being singled out is a polarizing issue as the media reports invite us to take sides as it is. I think you either have to trade them both or nothing because either way there is going to be backlash from fans.
And the irony of it all is that they were made for each other. One guy gets blown by a lot, the other guy has been trained to play goalie and is exceptionally good at it. One guy struggles in the offensive scheme and the other one flourishes, partly because he’s a race horse with blinders on. They’re both deeply flawed when it comes to playing both ends of the court IMO but their weaknesses are partly ameliorated by the other’s strengths. This idea that Gobert’s departure would benefit Mitchell’s game is pure folly IMO.
And for the record, I’m one that feels that a coaching change is more critical to our improvement than wholesale roster changes. Anyway I highly doubt we trade an All Star before our maiden hosting of the ASG.
