Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Tony Jones threw some cold water on the Jazz making trades on ESPN700. Said that the Jazz don't have great assets on their roster to trade and that Rudy is really important to the Jazz but he's not sure how important he is to the rest of the NBA, and Conley and Royce are important to the Jazz but he's not sure how important they are to the rest of the NBA either.

He also said the Jazz have no interest in Vucevic or White and that even if they include Patrick Williams it would still likely take multiple 1st round picks for the Jazz to trade them Rudy. He says he doesn't see a deal with Chicago happening. He also doesn't sound at all optimistic about a trade happening for Rudy with the Hawks.

He said the best trade for the Jazz would be with Toronto for OG and Trent Jr. but he said Portland may screw that up for the Jazz by trading the #7 pick for OG.
That's weird... like those players are only good here... like maybe we are just overvaluing them. If you need to move and you list your house at the price it means to you then you may never sell.

Sam Amick of The Athletic also saying that the Hawks interest in trading for Gobert is 'overblown.' If Toronto doesn't happen, it sounds like the Jazz may need to figure out a three-team scenario involving Chicago.

I would have thought the Blazers would be interested in putting Gobert next to Dame, tbh.

Also if you are on willing to do a deal with Williams plus like 3 first then you aren't being really aggressive. You might be active but that isn't aggressive.

Tony also said he's very confident that the Jazz could get into the first round for Bogey, but he said the Jazz really value Bogey. He also made a strange comment that the suspicion is that the true movement and turning over of this roster will probably happen by this time next offseason.

I REALLY don't want to run it back again next season.

Me either. We know how that story ends.

Sometimes, he'll ride along with Shams.

I kind of feel the same way... he's never really broken some big trade/roster move.
He doesn't break news (unless its Favs related). He will tweet after Shams something like "I can confirm with Shams..."

He is in the know for sure... but in a way that Locke is... he reports in ways that are team friendly and the messaging the team seems to want out there.
