Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Basically imo there are two Rudy trades still possible… the Toronto deal or the Atlanta deal. If Atlanta is willing to now include Griffin or Hunter since they got a wing (theoretically). I think it may become more likely if the get the Murray deal done… say they can send Collins (who’s trade value is declining), Capela, Hunter, and Johnson or the Charlotte first (if it doesn’t go out for Murray) for Rudy and Gay… it’s pretty meh to me but meh is what you get. SA has cap space so they can take Gay in the Murray deal if we expand to 3 teams. SA has cap space to help grease the wheels for both us and Atlanta… if they can get the draft capital they want.

Wish we'd offer Rudy to the Spurs for Murray/Poeltl so he can be reunited with Quin next year.

In an ideal world I'd...
Trade Rudy to Atlanta for John Collins, Kevin Huerter, AJ Griffin
Trade Conley to Dallas for Bullock, Powell
Use our Ingles TPE to take on Nerlens Noel

Don - Huerter - Bojan - Collins - Noel

w/ Clarkson, Bullock, Royce, AJG, and Powell off the bench
I like reading all the ideas, but I have a hard time seeing that team make the playoffs
If we moved Conley for KCP/Smith which is most conservative outcome of a Washington deal (I’d love to get Deni or Rui) that would save us 3.9M and we’d be under the apron by 1.3M and above the luxury tax by 2.7M.

Donovan
KCP
Crowder
Bogey
Ayton

Clarkson/Royce/Craig off the bench.
Or this one.

Posted in the wrong thread, so I’ll put it here too.

My wild idea with no regard for cap space etc: trade Don to NY for Barret +filler and Bogie to Atlanta for Collins somehow. Keep Gobert and keep Conley for his veteran leadership, bring back House and possibly Juancho. Start Conley, House, Barrett, Collins and Rudy. A younger, bigger line up with better defense and more flexibility (Collins as small ball center for example). JC, Royce and possibly Juancho off the bench. Butler backs up Conley who needs to be load managed anyway. When Barrett is up for his extension next year, we trade Conley and Butler steps in.

They won't have cap flexibility until next offseason if they move Burks/Noel and sign Brunson. If they give RJ Barrett a big extension a Don/RJ swap wouldn't be hard to do financially.

Per LJ Ellis of Spurs Talk, the only player San Antonio actually wants from Atlanta is Onyeka Okongwu. Also, despite BR’s Jake Fischer reporting that the Spurs are looking for three first-rounders in a possible deal for Murray, that’s also false. Ellis notes Gregg Popovich’s squad would take no less than four unprotected first-round picks. There’s talk that the Spurs are looking to trade Murray for three first round draft picks. I’m told that is incorrect. San Antonio’s asking price for Murray is four first round draft picks with little to no protections. Alternatively, the Spurs want three minimally protected first rounders and two unprotected first round pick swaps.

Yowza… good luck SA cuz that’s more than the Jrue package there. I could see an alternative deal as a couple firsts and Okongwu if they take the Charlotte pick as one of the picks. I wonder if the rumors are more from Murray’s camp trying to get out and Spurs are like “sure but we want the Jrue package”.

I don't think the Spurs have been actively shopping him but the Hawks have continued to call on him so they've just asked for a return that basically takes everyone out of he running for him.

I really wish that Conley could somehow be turned into John Collins. Would take a 3rd or even 4th team, but I think adding him would do so much for our team.

Don moves to PG.
Bojan can play some SF.
When Rudy sits, we can try some small ball.
We add much needed youth and athleticism.

From there, we just look to add as many perimeter defenders as possible through free agency and even trades.

We don't have to trade Rudy, but we would have to make a bold addition like this if we want to keep Don and Rudy together.

Turn Conley into 20mil in cap space would have been better
