Jazz are Setting Up a Tank

I feel it.

Even if the Jazz we're attempting to execute a "win now" trade, they would still want to sign some decent free agents. But they aren't.


They are waiting for whatever happens or doesn't happen with KD/Kyrie to setup the cascade of a Rudy/Don trade for a mega haul of assets. Rudy/Don might actually be involved in those trades as a way to make it work for a 3rd team.

Tankers should be excited.

I think Rudy or Don would have been dealt by now if that were the case. Nobody really has a great amount of draft assets for a Don tank trade outside of OKC. NY would have been decent, but they have dealt away many picks to shed expirings that would have been great tank material for Don.

I think Rudy will be dealt to Chicago, Toronto or Atlanta by the end of the day. Edit: dark horse could be Charlotte.

Yeah because none of those teams would also have interest in KD.

Exactly, and teams are jockeying for the sweepstakes. Pretty well noted that most trade activity is on hold pending his deal. Once that's done, the floodgates will open.

I do hope we just do some small retooling and make a run one more year with them. With a new coach, if every one make a decent effort, and coach find a way to optimize Don and Rudy potential, put Mike in a confidence position, it may work. Worst solution for me will be to embrace tanking now.

I know folks around the league are pretty high on Hardy and dude seems like a player's coach (nothing wrong with that at all). But this team has two fundamental flaws with Rudy's inability to exploit the Oompa Loompas guarding him and the roster's romanticizing of Rubio's tales of the matador de toros' from his homeland and that manifesting in the perimeter. Mbah a Moute (few years ago) is 6'8". Regardless, it doesn't change the situation that Rudy has no post game and the team doesn't defend when opponents go small 5 out.

I put a lot of the perimeter issues on Quin, but it doesn't change who Rudy is.

Man how dare you? Rudy is the solution for everything and has no flaws.

Seriously though, Rudy couldn't post up Brunson so height doesn't really matter. When you can't dribble, like Rudy can't dribble, there is no backing down to finish.

I'm just done with the Rudy experience. So many of the people around here are brainwashed by regular season results. Their fascination with Rudy's regular season dominance just blows my mind.
