Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I think the premise of your argument is dumb because all of those guys are good players. You basically are saying if they put those numbers up on a bad team they aren’t good players or it doesn’t mean anything which is just wrong.
My point is - 20/10 in and of itself means close to nothing. You don't know what stands behind it and what comes with it, besides the guy is big and can score. Noone is contesting that Ayton is big and can score. The question is - can he be the(or at least one of the) driving force(s) behind a winning team and is he worth giving up potentially valuable assets on a team that's very likely to be rebuilding within the next year?

And yes, those players were once thought of as good because they were "20/10 guys". In 2022 we are way past that as a sign of a good/winning player. And in some respects they were good (big and can score). But none of them won anything of value and none of them were the driving force for consistent winning teams.

edit: actually Antoine Walker won a championship, but that was at the back end of his career when he was a sub and no longer a key cog on that Boston team.

I did but I also saw quarters where Donovan played great defense. Go read the game threads people were praising it.
Which adds to the evidence that he quit on the teams. The quarters were seldom. I thought he turned a corner during mid season after he came back from an injury. Played great defense for like 2-3 games. Then, just punked out.

The sad part is @stitches legit used to be one of my favorite posters and best posters on this site year in and year out. Then he became obsessed with hating on Donovan and he has become a complete **** poster.
Yet surely my posts regarding the applicability of empiricist philosophy to JazzFanz analysis has elevated me to the upper realms of your favorite posters.

Tony told us nothing was imminent on Rudy too.

I think they are taking all the calls… but maybe putting the Knicks on hold. It’s a tricky situation between Don, NY, and Woj.

I hope they move him because 12 months of Don trade rumors is going to hang over this new iteration. If the KD trade goes down and Donovan isn’t included or we get Ayton… then I will start to believe they are really retooling around him. As it stands our roster is this weird mess half baked thing… so there will be more moves… just like Windy those moves will tell us what the Jazz are thinking.

This is all true. The next move will be telling where we are headed.

He was the third best player on a Finals team and second round playoff team the last two years.

I do like you and appreciate basically anyone who doesn’t feel the need to pick a side and just supports the Jazz in general. The guys who are the worst are the ones who have personal vendettas against players and who are cult-like in support of others who are on other teams.

All this DM vs Rudy drama is wrecking this thread. Now I want the Jazz to trade DM too just so all the bickering and drama surrounding them goes away. Geez people let it go.
Agreed the first 10,000 posts were bearable but uncomfortable, now they are old. Let it go Rudy is gone and for all we know Don could be too

I will be happy if we traded for Ayton and kept Mitchell or if we traded Mitchell for a godfather offer. I understand both ways of thinking and personally hope we don’t trade Mitchell because I don’t want to endure 5+ years of rebuilding but I would still be here chatting it up in the game and draft threads.

I’m going to trust what this guy has to say about Donovan lol.
You would note that even in the posts you quote(which I still stand 100% behind), I say I don't hate Donovan. I just don't trust him and I have some resentment for the way he's been treating this team and Gobert for the last 2 years +,

Resentment is a strong word even if it doesn’t mean hate. I’m thankful for Donovan for saving us from purgatory and helping us rise from the ashes after Hayward left. He’s done a lot for the community as well.

Well, what Bogey did wasn't just for a quarter. He guarded Kawhi, he guarded Brunson and Doncic for the whole game.

What I remember from Don is people conflating his steals with the idea that he was improving defensively. There were some hopeful few who thought since he sucked defensively, gambling for deflections and steals would help the Jazz.
