Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Okay lmao… when did the process start? They had 4 ****** seasons from the time they started the process… and they missed on picks and had all sorts of weird **** happen… and still came out with a team that is a contender. The two years in the lotto the years before were they trying but still sucking years.

Look SA did the.. stay competitive thing for a few years … wasted several years in the middle… and what do they have to show for it? They get to start to tank now… that is where we are headed if we don’t trade Don… making the play in and getting the 12th pick… sounds fun.
I think plenty of people are not understanding how bad we are going to be without Gobert. We are already a bottom 10 team WITH Mitchell. Getting Ayton would help somewhat, but we aren't a top 8 team in the division. Not even close.

I’m surprised these owners haven’t put a hit out on Ainge. Lmao. Ainge is a menace to these owners driving a wrench ito everything. Kinda think Durant would be a sun now if not for Ainge. Lol

No doubt. Plus, NYK is probably having an emergency meeting to discuss whether they can survive the PR hit if Mitchell goes to the Nets and not the Knicks. Ainge is a genius market maker.

So now there are multiple, separate rumors from different sources, both indicating that the Jazz are inserting themselves into KD trade discussions where Mitchell is the centerpiece going back to BRK. One scenario has KD going to PHX, and the other has KD going to TOR.

Ainge may be trying to power-broker the deal--i.e., the team that accommodates UTA for Mitchell gets Mitchell to BRK and gets KD.

DM to Nets does not work unless they move Ben Simmons

It could last a decade. No way to really know. Not sure how long it took minnesota or the kings to make the playoffs (probably others im missing too) but a team can definitely suck for a long long time.
Not if they tank… Minnesota, Magic and Kings get hurt when they shortcut the process or fall too in love with late lotto mediocrity. I’d say the average tank lasts 3 years. Then they have one additional year late lotto as they are trying a bit harder to win. There are also instances when rebuild last longer because teams miss so hard (kings)… the magic have had poor luck as the drafts they move up in didn’t have great prospects and the Fournier, Vuc, Gordon group was just good enough to get them into contention for the 8 seed.

Memphis rebuild was like 1.5 years tbh. They didn’t plan on being bad and waited until they had Ja to move Mike and make the roster about the future. Injuries led them to landing JJJ.

All I’m saying is everyone makes it out to be this long drawn out process… the process will take an extra couple years if we don’t do the Don trade imo… unless you have a super duper star that is committed to the team you will generally have a good 5-6 run then need to change it up. It’s just the cycle of life… lean in instead of fight it and you will give yourself a much better chance at success.

Some people here seem to be under the impression that our choice is either trade Donovan and start a re-build or keep him long term and build around him. That's just not realistic. He doesn't want to be here so we're going to have to trade him eventually anyway. If we wait until he only has one year left on his contract, we will have no leverage at all in trade negotiations...the more years left on his contract the more leverage we have.

I just don't see the point in wasting our assets on win now pieces to build around Donovan and then having to turn around and trade him next year anyway. It makes absolutely no sense.

I am less worried about a tank with Ainge on board. He has a knack for a few things. I have been impressed so far. He must be a good talker, evaluator, draftor, and can read markets for players. His championship and relationship with Bird, Barkley is something that probably helps him too. If we had another GM working a tank, I would be nervous.
